anyone beat 13 seconds for the passenger window to roll up? This is with car off, with engine running, it's not much better, about 10 seconds.
anyone know if dealer has a quick fix?

Never timed it, but I know it's faster when you close one window at a time. Maybe a voltage problem?

i think we should all time our windows - i will do mine later today. we could post graphs. Perhaps a chip -re-burn will speed things up (pun intended).

I took mine to the dealer once for this and they lubed the window up with silicone. It worked great for awhile.

LOL...I've got a Kenny Brown custom driver's glass, super slick. It's down in the low 11's

Darebren I have the same problem and it seems that it is getting worse. When I asked the dealer about it, they said that it was that it needed use but I've had my car since February and it ain't getting any better. I think I will have to go back and z if they can fix the problem. If not I'll have to go 30 minutes more on the road to get to the nearest Mercury Dealer. As it is, I have to drive one hour to get to the dealership where I bought my car.

Same problem(?) here. At first I thought it was just me, weak right button finger or something like that. Now you've confirmed my darkest fears, gremlins in the window track. (No flame intended, it's just one of those little things that should have been done better on a $35k car!)

Mine was fine...then it got slow...then one night it just did not go back up.....had to manually pull the thing up to hold it for it day. Took it in and they replaced the motor. Was having problems with the speaker in that door as well.....it was rattling and creating a buzzin noise with the bass.
So they fixed the motor and put some insulation around the speaker and no problems since....Knock on wood.

Okay, when i hold down all 4 window switches to roll up, my passenger window totally stops.......i gotta do it at least 2 or 3 at a time.

just ran my passenger window.....
3 seconds down; power off and power on - same time
4 seconds up; power off.
3 seconds up; power on.
I hardly ever use 'em, but my times are accurate.

I had a tread on this a while back. Majority think that lube will not work long term, and several had either the motor or track assembly replaced. Not an uncommon problem, buddies 01 CV Sport same. I have been back to dealer yet, may do myself.

I too have been having problems with my front passanger side window.
I took it back to the dealer and they lubed it, but it doesn't work much better. In fact they shot so much grease in it is dripping out the drain holes at the bottom of my door and the inside of my window is all greasey.
I have come to the conclusion that dealer repairs suck ***.

Yep, they do suck! One time I took my MM for an oil change only and they broke the inside handle to open the door. To make it worse, they also messed something up from inside. Good thing is that they fixed but I am afraid to take my car cause something worse may happen!

How fast should it go down or up?
Mine seems OK, but then I don't put it down often

Will this be a timed event at the next Marauderville?

True racers will race anything, right Dan? So, once we're all blown and running low 12's, who has the fastest windows seems a good place to start. Niche, I agree, but something to do once the snowbird flies...
BTW, I'm installing 4:30s on my wiper assembly...Can't touch me.

Mine did the same thing, worked fine for a while then slowed up. Dealership did the same lube quick fix, lasting so far, we'll see.

My windows are slow as well. The drivers side window has stopped working entirely a couple of tmes. It always eventually works again and I keep forgetting to have it checked.

This thread is getting just too f***ing funny . . .
(Going downstairs to time my windows. P.S. I've noticed that my passenger window IS slower!!!)

Tim Taylor aside, you may be on to something. If the front passenger window is slower than the rest, it must be because the cars are wired anti-clockwise from the driver's side. Therefore the front passenger window gets the longest wire, and the current has farthest to travel :D

I just knew there was an explanation! This site is great; an answer for everything!

If that is the case mine is definitely American because my driver's window is the slow one. :) Also vibrates about midway up - not on the way down.
I'll pit my back windows against anyone's. They are down in 2 seconds or so. The fronts are slower, with the driver's being noticeably slower than the passnger's.
Got me some racing stickers on my front windows so they look faster, so maybe no one will notice.

I've found eating Philly Cheese Steaks and letting to excess oil drip down the window runs help speed them up. I'll race anyone with my windows. What's that Dan??? Don't have Philly Cheese Steaks in NH... Have to come back to Philly. LOL RAY
