Started hearing a clunk today from the front end of the Marauder. Before I even get it home I've already figured out it's brake-related, so I pull off the LF wheel and what do I find?

One of the big bolts (18mm hex) that holds the caliper on has completely vanished! Not sheared off, not loose, GONE.

The other one was fairly loose. I have never heard of something like this happening before.

Already exhausted 3 options looking for a replacement on a Saturday night: AutoZone, Advance, and Lowe's.

Tomorrow, it's off to NAPA (ugh), then my local hardware store if they're open.

Thats ok, my e brake on the drivers rear started making a noise like they are hung up or something. After taking it to the drivetrain dept. at school they cant get the rotor off because the e brake shoes are hung up, and aparantly parts in there fell off as well, because you can see a part of a shim or spring hanging out and scraping the rotor face. And from what they figured, the entire axle will have to come out to fix it.

I had that happen to my Marauder except it was the LR caliper. The bolt was completely gone and the clip was the only thing holding the caliper on the rotor.

Be carefull w/hardware store bolts - Chinese grade 5 bolts are likely to shear off!

^^^very true, ask me how I know.

Bite the bullet and get the correct hardware from the Dealer(should have loctite on the bolt).

You may find that it is a dealer only part. I've run into that a few times on parts I thought would be readily available.

Just called NAPA and they claim to have it at one of their stores that just happens to be closed on Sundays.

It's part of a kit - 2 bridge-to-caliper bolts, and 2 slide bolts...12 bucks.

Should be delivered to my local one by 10am tomorrow.
