Has anyone experienced unusual sounds coming from the front end while steering all the way to the left or right, mostly while making turns?

Our GMarq. just started making a slight noise, kinda like a brake pad clip rubbing a little (it got new pads last year),I was going to check the wheel bearings today.

Is it a grinding type noise at the lock point?
If so, you may just need to grease the stops that prevent the wheel from being turned any further. My GMQ just started doing it...it's been awhile since I checked them.

Sometimes.... when I turn the wheel all the way left or right... and punch the throttle..... I get this high pitched squealing and screaming..... oh, and the tires make noise and smoke too.....
Then the car goes in a circle......

What's up, maybe a slight rubbing or grinding.

When making a hard turn or U turn avoid keeping the steering wheel on the lock point and hold it. It will cause stress on the power steering system.
I usually will bounce off the lock point and come back some. My wife could never understand that and now she does because her power rack and steering unit is leaking with only 52k miles on a 2005 Grand Prix.

When you have the steering wheel turned all the way to one side and holding it there. It's just a term used.

Check the ball joints and tie-rods...they go at higher mileages, especially if you have bumpy/poor roads.
Do you feel play in the steering or does the car "wonder" down the road requring constant steering correction?
