I suspect it's time to replace them all. My Blue 2003 was made in Jan 03. Have most folks here replaced, or waiting a little longer??

Well as of late the coolant hoses have a better track record over some engines lately, so I think your still good for a while. I think a better question would be, has anyone had a hose exspode or swell up, on them lately?

+1

I check my hoses at least once a month, usually when I clean the engine bay, and so far, they all look good.

I replaced all of mine and the heater hoses when I installed my Vortech. Seemed like a logical time to do it. That was at six years old. I think that's a reasonable time to start considering it. I probably would have changed them around the same time even if I had not been installing the blower. My theory on these things like hoses and such is that they're not so expensive as to make me wait for them to fail. Why not preempt trouble?

I changed my coolant hoses about 5 months ago or so. (2003, built in 2002)

I honestly felt like I was wasting my time. The old hoses looked perfect. No change between them and the new ones.

Edit: that lower radiator hose (built in Tee, etc.) is pretty pricy. The heater core hoses were 40 dollars each. I think I spent 300 dollars on hoses total - Ford parts, from Ray.

I think that's cheap peace of mind. All the money we spend on our cars as enthusiasts for mods and upgrades, yet people are resistant to spending a few hundred every five or six years on preemptive maintenance items.

I squeeze my hose frequently to make sure that it doesn't feel mushy.

I have nothing further to add to this thread.

Mine biggest hose has a kink in it that makes it bend slightly to the right?!

I just replaced all of my hoses also when I changed my everflow kit from rear of heads. Total spent was around 320 dollars from my ford store.

Is it possible to get the Goodyear Hi-Miler Performance Hoses? I think they are Blue Silicone. Just an idea.

I'd be into that just for looks alone.

Engine heat will age the rubber hoses faster than time. So, How many miles do you have on your MM? Are you stuck in traffic often?

I replaced the original Motorcraft radiator hoses on my Bronco at 111,980 miles as the return hose swelled up at the engine/thermostat connection. I believe Motorcraft is still making quality parts. "NEW" radiator hoses are allow to be on the shelf for five years, before you buy them. The MMs have unique hoses so they were likely made in 2002 or 2003.

The radiator hoses on my MM will not last as long as the Bronco since I use the A/C every afternoon and throw extra heat into the engine compartment. (the Bronco is white with no A/C) I would suspect the hoses could last 100,000 miles but some MM owners have had the water pump go out after 60,000 miles and that would be a good time to replace the coolant and the hoses.

Just a suggestion to save some valuable money. Thanks for the post, as I will add some duct tape into my trunk tools for cheap insurance.

Aug. 02 build, all original (almost) everything, including spark plugs and battery. 37k miles. Hoses look fine.
