View Full Version : Is your Marauder still your daily driver?

I have noticed a lot of you no longer use the Marauder as a daily driver. It's now one of the cars for "sunny days" as suppose to taking on whatever is thrown at it.
Mine still is my daily driver dispite the blower and other modifications. I even put winter tires on it so I could use it this winter, I will not being doing it next year though.
So how many actually drive their cars anymore?

I'm probably the only one in my yuppie area that will blast Hank Williams Senior while changing the oil in my driveway. Sometimes D.R.I. Doo Wop music, Chuck Berry... ya know. Anything I like that most in my area overlook.
Sometimes when I have the oldies or Doo Wop people will walk by slower to listen to the tunes!

Mine is a garage queen. I've put less than 2500 miles on it in the 20 months I have owned it.

Most every day. My garage queen is the 93 TBird SC. I only take that out in good weather but do as much as I can to keep miles off the MM. Today the SC went to work while the MM rested.

Mine was daily driver for the first couple of years and with serious highway use for work. I "retired" it a couple of years ago with 48k miles on it. I get it out regularly and am not too hung up about weather (though it skips winters now). A great car and a "keeper".

Daily.... rain and now snow since getting snow tires for the first time. It will need some cosmetic work after grit from a cement truck dinged my paint in a few places. :mad2: I did finally find a good detailing shop and plan to make good use of it. Will look to buy a used DD (4WD) and pamper my Marauder once the budget allows.

I ride my beast with reckless abandon. That is why I bought it. Not to sit and rust, but to roll and dust. And now that I have 1900 watts in the trunk, it just makes it all better.

Mine did daily driver duty for 4.5 years. Now it comes out the garage in the evenings and on weekends to terrorize lesser vehicles and frighten small children.

It's not so much the rain nor snow that bothers me. Salt and black ice is what really scares me.
Daily, violently. As long as all 4 wheels aren't pointing up, I'll be driving it. Vrooom.

My 1st one I bought brand new and other than getting stuck in a brief rain shower it never saw rain. the 2nd since I bought it has never seen rain since she became mine. just sits in the garage next to my stang

After 5 years of DD, my MM is now the "bad weather" car.
I live on a dirt road, if its been raining and the road is muddy I take the MM so I don't get my new car all dirty.
In about a month I'll turn off the insurance and park it for the summer.

Daily driver, year round in Chicago weather. Put winter tires on this year and it drove great through all the snowy days.
I let go of the dream of keeping it pristine and accepted the fact that it'll end up with many, many miles on it (hopefully) now at 84K... I have had very few problems with the MM and have really enjoyed owning it, bordering on "proud" to own it.... The only time I regret buying it new in 04 is when I see what I could have paid for a year or two later,,,Man did the MM depreciate...... Still love it and hardly a day goes by that it doesn't "get noticed" on the road.....

Must admit since s/c i've put alot of miles on that she's not used to. But if its not very clean i'll drive in the rain, show, whatever. I just wash it often.

Statisticaly speaking, we really need to qaulify and quantify the question..
A fella' in southern Florida vs. a guy in Western New York is not a fair or equitable comparisson. Consider Arizona, Texas, So. Cal. Now how is THAT fair.?
I drive my Marauder, day-in day-out. No matter the weather. Now, would the Floridians drive their Marauder during a Hurricane? The Oklhomans during a tornado? The Califonians whilst in a Mudslide? That's what I get 6 months out of each year.
Gotta tell ya', my Marauder is getting tired of it. And so am I. If I ever sell my car, don't buy it. It has future rust bucket written all over it.
Maybe an epoxy dip is in order.

To be 100% honest. It was a DD when I bought it. I bought my girlfriend a new 2006 Taurus and when we broke up she abandoned it in my lap when it was less than a year old so THAT became my DD. BUT - I drive a wrecker 24/7 so the Marauder gets 1500 miles a year and the Taurus about 5000. It was totally by accident that it happened but I am glad.

Delete a few words and you sound just like me. Mine has seen rain only a couple times since I bought it almost 4 years ago! The last rain it saw was because the wife HAD to take it to dinner for our anniversary. Then she complained because we walked a mile so the car didnt get dinged, you win some and lose some!:dunno:
Just took the car out last week for the first ride since last november!:D
and the first run I scared the :censor: out of a little mitsu, not sure if he thought it was a trooper or the fact that I buzzed him at 115???:burnout:

I had a show queen. I got tired of it sitting in the garage. The show is gone!!! I bought my Marauder as a play car, family car, everyday goto work car, and a show car. I wanted a car that has a kick ass package. I plan on getting some Crown Vic rims with snow tires. I wanted all of the cake and to eat it too. The Marauder fits that bill. :banana2: I love my Marauder!!:D

I have been careful when I drive my 04 SB since, although there may be another one to buy if this one gets destroyed, the crop is aging.
I was concerned that (N)Obama will hijack the auot industry and destroy all "muscle" cars like NHTSA did in 74. However a ray of hope has been displayed.
I have avoided a new Ford since my new 351 in 96 after which time Ford reduced their stable of motors (except this exceptional 4 valve I currently drive) to 3) 5.4, V 10 and diesel. Since then Chevy has built the venerable 8.1 and a crop of fast 6.0's. However Jerry from Trilogy recently confessed he just took delivery of a V10 and replied (in response to my surprise) that he would develop a supercharger for it! My 4.6 may be trilogized within 3 weeks. If it performs as I hope, the world of car and truck choices may be open again. I expect if the auto world is
(N)Obamasized down to econoboxes at least pick up trucks with a supercharger ready V 8 may remain. We shall see.

you guys who don't drive durring the winter months. What do you do when storing your mm. I took my mm out of storage this month and it died on the highway. It was the fuel pump. It was full of gas for the winter months. The 04 mm has 27000 on it. It wasn't the cut off button in the trunk. Had it towed to the ford dealer and said it was the fuel pump . any body have this problem.

While in storage, I start up the Marauder weekly and let it run for at least 20 mins.
Hearing the supercharger whistle and exhaust note helps cure those winter blues.

I've never had any problem with mine sitting. I drive it once a month even in winter when the roads are dry so it is not really "stored for the winter". Maybe your fuel filter was clogged & took out the pump or the pump just went bad. From my past experience when fuel pumps go out they don't give any warning they just stop.
