I was wondering if anyone who bought a Marauder with out the power sunfoor went out and had one installed? If so what brands are recomended? Did the installers do anything for draining water? Are you happy you had it done? Does it leak? What was the cost? Would anyone even recomend it? And anything else anyone might have to add. I would greatly appreciate it. I bought a 2004 DTR Marauder with only 26,500 miles on it, but it did not have a power sunroof. It was to hard to pass up the low miles though so I bought it and love it. Thanks for anyones time.:)

The sunroof is designed to leak around the glass and drain the water through tubes in the front and rear pillars. The sunroof was the pivotal reason for me buying mine. It took 11 months to find. If I remember correctly - sunroofed Marauders use the overhead controls from a Town Car. I am not sure but I think they are manufactured by Webasto and is one of the best sunroofs available. I cannot live without mine. Expect a sunroof (inbuilt, power) to cost about $1500 and takes unprecedented expertise to correctly install.

Several members of this site used ASC to install a sunroof.:D

Webasto is the same one that the manufacturer uses. Ironically, the cars are pulled off the line and sent off site to have a sunroof installed.

My DTR had the roof when I bought it, but... my DD LX Sport did not. I had an aftermarket Webasto installed for $1100, on the outside, it looks more factory than to OEM, the inside does not use a factory switch, it uses some hokey button arrangement, I found a factory overhead with switch for the sunroof and modified the outputs, and added 3 relays to make it function the aftermarket unit, NOW, it looks factory.

The only other downside is the way they mod the headliner, I think if you found a headliner from a wreck, you could have the roof placed correctly with the headliner and use the factory piece.

Yeah, I know, I think too much.

Just my 4.6 cents

takes unprecedented expertise to correctly install.

This would worry me.

I too hate the fact my car doesn't have a moonroof.
