I have been driving GM B & D bodies for the last 10 years or so. I have owned practically every one made: Caprice, Impala SS, Fleetwood, Roadmaster, even the wagon versions.

I just sold my daily driver '93 Fleetwood & Supercharged '96 Tahoe and was in the market for a new Pontiac G8 GT. We were working numbers after the test drive and what happened to pull in the lot... a Black Marauder. The gentleman was trading it on a G8 GT, but I was able to talk to him before hand. His car had 123K miles on it but looked great.. too many miles for me, but at least I got a test drive and fell in love.

To make a long story short, I have been looking for a nice Marauder for almost a month now (and lurking on this forum). I left a deposit on a 2003 Black Marauder 300 A with 55K miles this weekend. I am picking it up next weekend and couldn't be happier! The only option it has is the CD changer. It is going to be my new daily driver :coolman:

GM left us hanging after the demise of the B/D bodies in 1996, and the Marauder fits the bill nicely.

Instead of financing a new G8 GT for the next 3 years, I am able to get this Marauder outright and save on insurance and keep some money for mods ;)

I still have one D body left in my stable, I have owned it since 2005 and will probably never sell it. It is my pride & joy, a 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with every option from the factory. It has all the LT1 bolt ons and runs a low 14 second 1/4 on street tires. More of a show car than anything else, it won seven trophies last show season. Here are a few pics of the Fleetwood (that is my wife's M45):

And a brief dyno video from 2007:

And a few of the other B/D bodies I have had the pleasure of owning:

I can't wait to pick up the Marauder next weekend. It is bone stock and begging for some gears & other bolt ons.

Any advise on what I should do first?

Take care!

Congrats on the new acquisition and welcome to the team. I really dig the Roadmaster with the Impala SS wheels. Never seen that before. You've got good taste in cars (obviously, you're getting a marauder).

Welcome. I never owned a B body but I admire them just the same. Several of the original members here have had B bodies as well. Nice looking Cady. :)

Congrats on your upcoming purchase!

I really dig that Roadmaster. IMHO, the best looking B-body out of the GM stables...

Thanks gentlemen!

Do you think 4.10 gears are the 'best' first modification?

4.10s and a 'tune' will really wake her up.
The tune will cure the transmission's tendency to shift into 'OD' at (too) low speeds, let it rev to 6,000 rpm on each shift, and the tune will cure a flat spot in the power curve that many have noticed when stock.

The flat spot is the worst thing about the stock tune...

Welcome to the collective! Sweet Caddy. You'll need a tune just to do the 4.10s. Throw a CAI for minimal $ and you're good to go. Enjoy your new ride, but you did buy the wrong color. DTRs rule the roost. :D

That's a sweet Fleetwood. The last of the RWD platform. That is a true Cadillac Land Yacht.

Thanks! I can't wait to get the Marauder in my garage. The owner is on vacation till Monday, but at least it is sitting in his garage waiting for me.

I'm sure you will love the car. As far as blot on's , a "Trilogy SuperCharger Kit " it you have the money or as set of 410 grears , a 3000 stall torg converter and a tune will wake it up nicely also. Either way I'm sure you will enjoy it.
