Dammit John! Helluva run for stage one. It has to be the weather, cause I still have you can of 104 in my trunk. The whole weekend at Ennis I couldn't break 14.7.
I'm proud of you, wish I were there......

Way to go John!!!
Best way to get "The Mongoose" to show up?
Call him a :censor: if he doesn't come down....challenge him to a head-to-head match....leave nasty messages at his office....
THEN..."The Mongoose" will show.

AWESOME!!! I haven't run mine since the DR setup was installed... Now I'm getting really excited. If I can pull a 14.2 with that, then I might just be able to pull a 14.0 after the headers/exhaust!! Yippeeee

Hmmmmm....Do they have test and tune and/or open racing on the weekends? How does this place compare to Englishtown?

Why don't you guys do an Atco Track Rental. I've been to about six track rentals and it's a great time. You need a min. of 12 cars and a max. of 15. It's $1500.00 for the day during the week from 9am-5pm. You have the whole place to yourselves and can really test and tune. You can have an unlimited number of runs. We have had gamblers bracket races also. Everyone put up $10.00 and whoever wins gets the pot. It's a great time. Go to www.atcorace.com RAY

Thurs night is Muffled Street Cars only. Fri. night is anything goes test and tune. Tues. night is Gamblers racing and the street cars don't get many runs. Sat and Sun are events and sometimes test and tune. Go to www.atcorace.com and look at the schedule. It's not as nice of a facility as E-Town, but is a good track. I've raced there for 35 years. I went to a track rental in June with my 70 Mach 1. I had a ball. RAY
Marty-
Sometimes they have test & tune on weekends other times they don't. It depends how big the events are. I guess you can call them up to find out.
BigMerc-
I tried a few methods of launching the car and try to keep a few things in mind each time I run.
First off since I don't race brackets, yet, so I try to keep reaction time out of my mind. When you're racing for money it's very important. When you're shooting for fast times it doesn't make difference whether you cut a perfect light or red light.
At acto there is no way to go around the wet box so I do a little burnout to get the water off the tires and any extra debris.
Everytime I've launched it above 2k rpm's I've gotten to much tire spin off the line. As learn how the car handles, on the track, I'll try to increase the rpm's off the line but last night the people watching me told me that on my 2nd run I spun them way too long.
Going down the track all you have to do is keep the car straight & mash the pedal to the floor. I think it is natural to let up on the gas you have to remember to keep it pressed as hard as you can till you cross the finish line.
I never manually shift. Everything I've read about this car is that it does it better itself.
I've had the best results when:
*Let car cool down between runs.
*If you're way back in the staging lanes push car till you get up front. (I've only done this once but had my best time doing it)
*Ice down between runs.
*Lose weight (Cruztaker should kill all of us)
ATCO-
The word I hear about Atco is that it is a fast track. I've not raced anywhere else to be able comment. I see people from far away who have tracks near them come to this place because of that. It is also a decent group of people. Everyone is very friendly in the staging lanes. I heard that you can get plenty of attitude at some other tracks.
If you get there early you can run loops. Once they start racing you'll wait between an 1 to 2 hours between runs. It depends on how many times they have to clean the track or how many cars cars they have racing for money.
Hope you find this informative.

Atco's nick name is the traction capital. It also has the longest shut down area of any NHRA track. I've heard people with mid 12 second cars go two tenths faster at Atco vs e-town of Maple Grove. The track is at sea level and is in the middle of the pine barrons which has great air. RAY
