The other day i noticed my passenger side fog light was out. i replaced the bulb but still the light was out. i then started pulling apart the plugs along the fog light wires. one was badly corroded so i cut the plug out and spliced the wires together. The fog light then came on, and as i placed it in the housing it turned back off. i cleaned the contacts where the bulb sits and those 2 prongs and still would not turn on. Do you think maybe the whole socket is bad? maybe i pulled the wires out of the plug putting it in???i dono but one fog light still works great so im not thinking a fuse. Help please

I had to replace the entire unit on the drivers side.

The lights are not individually fused left and right. You already saw it work and it went out while you were moving it. Corrosion follows the copper wire so maybe it's corroded beyond what you see. The possibility of a wire completely severed is pretty high. Cut the wires back as far as you can and strip the insulation to see the wires. You may be able to splice and insulate new wires to make it work.

Can someone tell me what type of light is used for the fog lamps? I'd like to go out and pick up the lights without removing the old one first. Thanks.

Foglight is an H1.

Yep, thats what I had to do. There is no reason for the pigtail, eliminate it.

I don't know exactly where you live but if you have a junkyard nearby - walk through with some cutters. The Marauder is not the ONLY car that uses the H1 bulb. You can find the pigtail and probably get it for nothing.

Would be better off going to a junk yard for that price.

The problem is usually where the bulb goes into the housing, the tangs which touch the base of the H1 get corroded and it will creat a barrier of oxide between the tang and the base. I simply cleaned the tang and the back of the plate it touches and used an electrical grease and it worked out just fine.. In my particular situation..

The problem was my fault, it looks like i forgot to crimp one side of the butt connector oops. what could i use to possibly polish the glass on the fog lights. i just put new headlights in and now the fog lights look like crap.
