Hey folks! we are here in sunny Florida. I know it has been a while since I've added any info about my car, but I finally have an update for everyone.
At long last I firmed up my vacation plans for Florida (I'll be down at the end of March) so Dennis put my car on his priority list and really got things rolling. I don't know if you will recall, but last winter I bought a new Dually out of Texas. I called up Dennis and asked if there was any chance I could have it delivered to his shop until I came down in April, and he very kindly said "no problem". He even gave the truck a good once-over before accepting it from the shipper, changed the oil and filter and test drove it to make sure all was right. Wow!
So anyway, when April rolled around, I drove the 2900km from Nova Scotia to Jacksonville Florida - 2 days flat! The whole idea here was that I would leave the car, drive home in the dually and Dennis could have the Marauder until I was ready to come back to Florida to pick it up. I had kind of planned on a Christmas holiday trip, but that fell through due to my work schedule. So in the end, I really imposed on Dennis and left him babysitting my car for almost a year! When I made my plans a couple of months back to take the family to Disney, I let Dennis know my schedule and as I mentioned before, he really got things rolling. Good thing he has a "high gear", too, because all year I kept adding to my "To Do" List. I got to the point where I was almost afraid to add anything else! Here is just a part of what I had done:
I already had the manual six speed installed here in NS (A new tremec intended for a Cobra), but it was not quite up to snuff. I mean, it worked, but there were details to resolve. For instance, the missing speedo gear and the mis-aligned throw-out bearing. So, out came the tranny. In addition, Dennis found that I had a leaking freeze plug so he pulled the whole drive train and checked everything. That was when he found the leaking front crank seal bearing. Man! And these weren't even on my "To Do" list!
Then he got down to the real work and installed a twin Cobra fuel pump assembly with GT pumps, a Kinsler fuel filter, dash eight stainless steel line feeding Paul's High performance (PHP) fuel rails, 60 pound sieman injectors, forced induction (a Novi 1500), and an SCT B2400 MAF. He then installed my Wideband Commander (I still have some left if anyone is interested ) AF meter and an Aeroforce gauge on the A pillar. He also had to relocate my computer since the clutch pedal took its original resting place in the firewall (mental note: fix hole in firewall). A late addition (just last week) was a police style computer stand to hold my laptop. It looks very trick, indeed, and I'll be the envy of my fellow travelling salesmen. Oh, and Dennis fixed the defective Moser (sp?) axels with the ABS rings (dummies shipped axels to me that the ABS rings wouldn't even fit on. I think I mentioned in another thread the way Dennis went to bat for me on that one), checked the rear end, fixed my exhaust. He also did some work that wasn't on the list including re-manufacturing my shifter so it had more clearance and a better throw and then had a custom shift boot made for me (also not on my list).
I think he has all the brakes changed over to gas slotted rotors with upgraded pads, and the Naakes go on this weekend before I arrive. Oh, and he is also having it detailed so it isn't a blight on the Disney grounds. I suspect it still had salt-cake on it from my forray through the storm that asualted me on my trip down last April. I really don't know how anyone could give better service than this, and I am truly indebted to Dennis and his mechanics for the phenomenal work they have done. Since my first dealings with him about three years ago I've had excellent customer service time and time again. This project has proven to be no exception.
The piece de resistance, though, which we've all been waiting for is the dynograph. Feast your eyes on this! And, only 12 psi! So, how does one sleep at night knowing that in only 5 days they will be reunited with their fire-breathing MM? Not well, I'm guessing. I've intentionally kept my anticipation at bay for almost a year. But, now that things are coming together, I really am like a kid on Christmas eve. And what person would have the car delivered to Orlando for me to see it waiting for me after stepping off the plane.
All the best,
David

This thing is definitely more spritely than when I dropped it off.
It looks great under the hood and the detailing is marvelous. Hasn't looked
that good in years.
Drives like a dream, and the stock mufflers make all of the difference in
the world. Most appreciated. We'll wow the boys with that detail alone.
Joanna was also very impressed and your friend Ed and his wife seem like
really great folks. I wish I'd had more time and Jo and I would have
invited them to lunch. You've got a really good friend there, Sir
