I really like Steve's Prince of Steaks in Bensalem...but to me in the "Block War" of Cheesesteaks in Philly, Geno's is better, but that's just ME!

I think Tony Luke's are the best in town. There is a big cheesesteak run to there from Maryland on April 11th - http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=51100&highlight=philly+cheesesteak
With all the car clubs involved, it may be a long wait for a sandwich!

Pat's was the original cheese steak and Gino's the usurper in South Philly. I had both - but Pat's is the best.

The best place around here to get a cheesesteak was called the Hoagie Shop (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.view profile&friendID=119854890), but it just closed down.

This thread made me nostalgic for a sandwich.
I'm gonna go eat a stick of butter and cry into a big mug of beer now.

When I lived in Philly I preferred Pagano"s Steaks 76th and Ogontz, but every neighborhood has their favorites. You cannot get a real Philly cheesesteak anywhere else but Philly.

When I was a kid (50's - 60's) living in Wilmington, DE there were many very good sub shops that made 1st class cheesesteak subs. I always thought the secret was the roll - made fresh locally, every day. Maybe that's changed now?
