I have a set of widened stock rims that came with Phoebe when we bought her...I believe they are 9.5". I am interested in putting them on The Blackbird but what size and brand/model of tire would be appropriate? The Blackbird is not driven in snow, but may be driven in rain in the summer, so I want a decent all-around tire that doesn't look stoopid, but I don't want to spend boku bux on Pirelli P-Zeros or anything that exotic. TIA

Nitto 555 P295/45-18s.
They look sweet!
(On the front 8"wide rims I've got Nitto 555 P255/45-18s.)

I use stock tires in the front and
285/50/18 nitto 404's on the widened rim
They feel very good for nittos, not the same rubber compound as the nitto 555
555,s are great for HOT weather driving and some rain below 60 degrees they are stiff
the 404's have a much more pliable compound real sticky for me
I just ordered another set for the garage

Mickey Thompson 305-45-18
Extremely smooth ride, and superior dry traction on the common roadway.

Same here, great performance, traction, and wear. Rain or dry.

OK, I settled on the Nitto 555s...they finally came in on Friday and I had them put on Saturday...haven't had time to run them around much to see how they feel, but so far they're nice and tight, and the car certainly looks more aggressive from the back. :)
My next question is what pressure to run the rears...I know the stock BFGs needed more pressure to prevent wearing the centres, but how about the wider 555s? I was running the BFGs at 38. The tire shop set the 555s to 32.

Adam and I run Continental's, 285/50/18, with 420 tread wear, AA traction, A heat, and a Z speed rated. $120 each at Tire Rack.

I normally run closer to 35, but I don't think they are very sensitive as far as pressure/wear relationship.
