I'm hearing a clunking or popping noise in the front end and the car is going into the shop to find out what it is. I know it needs struts as well, but I've got what may be another issue.

Since the right front strut has gone bad, the front of the car has RISEN. Ride height is probably 2 or 2.5" higher than it should be, especially on the right side. I showed Wes at our Houston meet Saturday night, and I know he thought I was crazy until he measured it himself.

I've got no idea why it would ride higher unless the spring has popped out of its perch and is setting on something it shouldn't be.

Anyone want to make a WAG before I get the official diagnosis?

Check your sway bar end links in the front. As little as 1/16" play will sound like someone is hitting the frame with a hammer! You will not be able to feel any play unless you un-load any strain on the bar.

The shop found that the end links were bad, but they believe that the noise was coming from the left upper control arm bushings and the ball joints. I'll know shortly. I'm picking the car up this afternoon and the end links have not been replaced. They had trouble getting them, and I told them to forget about it for now. I'll find them and put them on later.
