Weather tech, the only way to go. Nice quiet ride and zero rain in car.

I meant to ask, how you mount them like that? It looks like they go up and down with the windows??

No, they have two sided tape on the outside of the vents that stick to the window channel. Mine were used and not very sticky but still worked fine. Besides the are are very tight fit.

What did you use to black out your chrome? Something from a body shop?

3M "TRIMBRITE" tape. Thats what most members who done this used. I kinda like the chrome trim on the car.

There are 2 type of rain guards. The "in the channel" type and the "external" type. The external type will cover the chrome trim around the windows. I prefer the in the channel type. BTW.. the in channel type are more expensive.

I, personally, like the exterior mount better, than the in channel type.

Looks "old man car-ish" to me. Although it does suck when you open your window in the rain and water pours right onto your window control switches.

Must have been the external mount... correct?

External or in-channel they are a life saver when driving in heavy rain and some foul gas smell from your arse or someone else's is unleashed in the car. Vent the window and as your driving it pulls it right out lol.

I was told by a professional window / glass installer, that the ones that mount in the channel actually allow water to run down inside the door. This will cause the doors to rot out over time, and or create problems with the window mechanisms and motors. His comments were not directed toward any car in particular, just a generalized observation of a lot of vehicles.

Water is going to pass by the "dew wipes" anyway. Whoever told you this information is incorrect. Just think about it.

I agree... that is B.S.....

Take a look at the inside edge of your doors. There are drain holes engineered into the doors. They are there to drain any water that gets in.m In fact you might want to check yours as there are some that have tape over the holes. If so, remove the tape.

Not true. If that was the case, I would not have put these on any of my Panther vehicles.

Wouldn't these "widen" the channel where the window sits? If they were ever removed, wouldn't there be a gap around the seal?

So that's what it is!!! I was getting worried my doors where messed up. Everytime I wash the car and I open the doors I noticed they would always leak from the corner.
Huh I always learn something new everyday of the car

No, the seal is rubber. With time and heat they will go back to the original configuration.

I've had these window visors/deflectors on every pickup truck I've ever owned.

Indispensable.

For the Marauder, the inside the channel type make a lot of sense as you don't end up with visible adhesive residue should you ever decide to remove them.

I started out with external, then went with channel ones, but converted those to external for more window cleaning room.

Wish i could find some like the ones i have on the truck.

I like there purpose but not the way they look on our cars but the ones that fit in window channel look better,I used to have splash guards on my car and people said it took away from the car.l took them off and now once a week I'm using bug n tar removel on quarters and fenders cause these tires kick up everything like tar.
