Yayy me i knew i could do it with the help of ctrlraven beating it in me "learn to drive it" "learn to drive it". I beat my best time at Capitol Raceway ran a 14.295 @ 98.09mph:D 60' getting better learning to launch 2.30 was my past best i shattered that with a 2.140:eek:. All i have is a JLT intake and a tune and she pulls hard once i get all my launching down perfect and how to actually come out of the hole and have 0 spin i think i could pull a 14.22-14.19. Any tips?:help:

Get a MSD 2-step, that will really help and take the launch guessing out for you and I would also lower your rear air tire psi to 26-28psi (adjust it back after each run if needed). Remove the junk out of your trunk and run around 1/4 tank of gas, no less than that though. That should be good for a few hundreds of a sec. Once you get 4.10 gears your going to need a helmet for the 13's! Good job!

How the hell did you get a 14.2 with just those mods? Now I'm pissed that my cars best is a 14.4 with both those mods, 4.10s, UD pulleys and a water pump. I must be doing something wrong.

Na im just kidding that will be good when u have a close race it makes you drive better i think. Ohh if i have some bigger injectors and a Ford GT fuel pump i could run 14.0 or 13.9 id add more timing and be GOOD :D

OK thia may be a monkey ass question but does race gas help any reducing times? I plan to remove my headlight, fold the mirrors back, and let chris or sherman drive. I should be at 13.9 then says chris i just wonna know if race gas will take any number of tenths off?

Change plugs
Seafoam
Fuel Filter
Clean MAF

Spare tire etc?

Are you running 93; tuned for it?

I'm one to talk! I haven't been to the drags YET.

I would also lower your rear air tire psi to 26-28psi Good job!

I go right down to 23-24 psi. Also, bump those fronts up to 40 - 42 psi. Other big thing everyone forgets is GO STRAIGHT. I'm serious about this. Every time you move the wheel even just a little, you loose time. Get it lined up straight, and go straight as possible.

Mike you just need to get the 4.10s installed, load up Zack's 4.10 tune, reduce what weight you can, get a good launch and you'll be in 13's.

For the track we run on I found 26psi to work the best on stock BFGs. I run my KDW2s at 23-24 psi but with 16" drag radials now don't care about street tire psi. Getting out of the groove will slow you down and like Paul said go straight, you should have both hands on the wheel when you launch anyways unless its a pro street car with trans brake and etc etc.

Plugs are 1 day old so maybe that will help next time out. Fuel filter is less than a year old. Havent used seafoam or cleaned MAF. Would that help? Spare tire is always in the trunck and yes it's tuned for 93. Most of my problem is launching. I need practice!
