As in Title: What is the maximum safe redline for a stock Marauder engine? I understand some other 4.6 engines use some forged internals and those engines have a higher redline. Anybody got any details on how much we can spin the MM engines.
I'm thinking about changing cams which should raise the power higher in the rev range but I'm not clear how much rev these engines can handle.
Thanks!

I've had mine up to 6,700 twice, both times manualy shifting like a dumb***.
Others i've heard have seen 7,200 and have survived.
Although these numbers have been reached, i will remain at 6,200 for longetivety and suggest the same.

I've heard 7K is safe for the stock engine. My shifts come in at 6250 but that may be adjusted a bit higher.

I run mine to 6250 as well, I have had it to 6500 while tuning but it was falling flat and not gaining any power with my car at that level.
My motor shifted a lot higher tha 6250 and survived!:D

I ran mine to 6450 on the road course & blew up the engine. Caveat emptor.

I have run past the 6700 RPM limiter many times.....scared the heck outta me!!
Finally got a tune that makes it shift below 6400 RPM's all the time (I hope)....so far so good......112,000 miles with the blower!!:bows:

Me thinks you need to go to the track first , just to see what it will do.

Others have stated that you won't do much with cams.....20 HP for $1200.00???
6500 RPM's is a safe number N/A and some have gone to 7000 RPM's but they are flirting with DISASTER!!!:shake:
You can put you $$$'s into something more productive.....IMO!!:bandit:

I think a good safe maximun RPM is about 3000.

Ha Ha Ha! 3000 rpm is 27 miles and hour, just starting to have some power. 6250 rpm is 45 MPH and starting to feel like a muscle car.
