I went to a local yard today and picked up a headlight and turnsignal for my wife's Explorer. I bought the steel wheels for winter use from this same yard and the guy knows I own a Marauder. As soon as I walked in today he tells me he's got one on the yard and grabs a guy to take me back to it. It wasn't hit very hard, but for some reason it was totaled. The passenger fender, bumper cover, grill, header panel, pass headlight and marker light were all toast. The engine and trans was pulled and the pass door was gone as well. I scored the dash trim, window switches, and a few small parts I needed. The seats were in good shape, the driver's door panel was broken, and all other panels were there. He has the wheels in the office with 3 good tires and no damage for $750. I can get prices on everything or anything anyone needs. He is going to pull the gauge pod for me tomorrow.

can you see if he has the piece that goes around the guage cluster and radio?

Can you find out if it has the stock exhaust tips or the Res Delete tips. If they are the Res Deletes ask how much.

Thanks,
Phil

If he will part the seats, I would be interested in the headrests. Also, does it have the trunk organizer?

It does still have the tips, but I did not look under to see if they are the res deletes. If the weather holds out I will look tomorrow afternoon.

The seats will be sold whole since they are in good shape. No trunk organizer, that was the first thing I looked for.

Are you talking about the flat trunk organizer with the bi-fold (carpeted panel) lid that fits flush in the trunk well?

Is it possible to just give us the name of the yard so that we may call ourselves?

I am looking for something, but playing post/pm tag is rediculous.

Greyhound bus shipping is probably the cheapest, but you have to go to the bus station to pick it up. Thats the only way to transport large, light objects.

If you package them in cardboard and do a nice job shipping is not to bad. It cost 28.00 last fall to have one shipped from Mich. to Arizona for the trunk organizer.

I believe I saw this one when he first got it in. It was out front and wedged between two cars. The interior is all pulled apart.

I would have gotten the VIN, but the hood was pushed up covering the VIN on the dash.

He also owns a Marauder, according to the co-workers I talked to that day.

I won't have a spare minute to call today or tomorrow... Can someone see what he wants for the seats, front and rear? I would greatly appreciate it and owe somebody a cold one...

I talked to Glenn today and prices are "what's it worth to you". He wants to sell the interior complete but wants an offer on it. He removed the engine and transmission to put into his car and then sold his car. I asked about the tips and he wanted to sell a cat-back system. I don't see much movement on this.

Drew stated the front bumper is trashed and if it's the same Marauder I saw, only one headlamp and corner lamp survived.

It is a black Marauder, 300A I believe.

I also believe it was high mileage and assuming the bumper had no tears, it could probably use a repaint.

After spending 5 hrs. driving and $30.00 in gas I can tell you that if you don't live close to this place it's a waste of time. I don't know how often you get to go to a parts yard but there's a difference between Auto Salvage and Junk Yard. This JUNK YARD is a mess and disorganized. The Marauder is sitting on the ground. You have to wade through ankle deep mud to get to the car.The front passenger door is gone. Needless to say it has rained for the past two days and the interior is wet. When you ask a price for an item he will go to car-part.com and come up with the price. As for the wheels he does have all four with center caps. Two are scuffed bad. 3 tires are fairly new and all 4 are 235/50/18. The fourth he picked up from the yard and put on the wheel. I tried to buy the two good wheels but he wouldn't separate. The price changed from 750 to 700 to 800 for all four. The VIN # 2mehm75v53x611568. Build date 6/02. Miles were 136K. I passed on everything he had. No more trips to this place for me. The phone number is posted if you want to deal with this place. I don't.

And if you want to see a neat, clean and organized auto salvage yard with decent prices go to Jones Auto Salvage in Orleans, In. I was impressed.

OUCH.

Sorry to hear of your misadventure.
Only a few salvage yards in our area are paved and I have not visited one in years.

Its a pain in the rear to deal with sometimes, but I've bought alot of stuff from there over the last few years. He's always given me fair prices and the yard is a mess to say the least. I work right around this place and stop in every so often.

Jones is very nice, but their prices can be a bit high on somethings. I guess you pay for the lot and ease of access there.

I do plan to goto Auto Warehouse to get a 3rd row seat for my Explorer and possibly a 4.6 V8 to convert my Explorer soon.

Well, after reading all the post here its obvious by now but this thread could have been helped if there had been pics of the MM....for that usually lets folks
"SEE" what they want as far as damage goes--....any way----a well posted bit of data from those involved in reporting it ---a thanks goes out to you all......

Its always a shame and a sad day to heard about another MM in Boot Hill.....
