After removing upper intake to change gasket I noticed oil tracks to #1 and #8 cylinder were heavier then others. I did seafoam already, so I figured ah ha remove spark plugs and pour say 1 oz of seafoam into each cylinder to get a really good cleaning. Results were more smoke and alot of liquid exiting pipes. OUTSTANDING I THINK! 2 days later I figure what would 2 oz's do. so in my infinite wisdom I remove plugs pour 2 oz's in each cyl, put plugs in wait 20 min turn key and click nothing, nada, zippo. visions of engine being hoisted from car were pretty vivid lol.

don't no why but I get out of car grab pos term tried to turn but it was tight. get back in car and it started..... I know I did something:shake: and I won't be doing tht again...

I need to go thru a MM detox center :D

Not a good idea to put liquid in the cylinder and screw the plugs back in.
Uncompressable fluids put up a lot of resistance when you try to compress them in the cylinder - bent rods are not unheard of!

I drove my '94 Ram through a creek that was a little high....

Bent 4 rods and shattered 4.

When doing the Seafoam "Deep Creep" procedure, it's recmmended to pour the Seafoam into the cylinders, wait 10 miuntes or so, then whirl the motor over with the plugs still out. Reinstall the plugs and start it up. No chance of hydrolocking that way.

Make sure you cover the holes with a towel before you bump the key. My neighbor said it looked like the fountains in front of Ceasers Palace kicked on under my hood. Soaked my hood insulator, doh! Then I put the plugs back in and crop dusted Hampton for mosquitos.

Dude? WHAT were you thinking? Straight fluid into a combustion chamber? That is a good way to hydrolock an engine.

Not to mention all that fluid coming out of the exhaust was wasted seafoam. One revolution on the exhaust stroke and all the fluid was thankfully pushed out of the cylinder.

Use as directed. I have seen it used in the fuel, oil and introduced slowly into a vacuum line.

You got lucky! I added some in my gas tank of the crown vic. It actually took some of the ping out of it.

Why would anyone pour a STRONG solvent into the cylinders.....it washes ALL oil off of the "thrust side" of the cylinder and probably represents 100 dry starts as far as wear is concerned???

Putting the plugs back in and trying to start it is another story......who told you to do this??:shake:

I came up with this all by myself :D

sounded good at the time, but then again i figured i was putting alot of strain on the motor

PCV, Spray mist in the TB, crankcase oil or fuel tank is the only places SeaFoam should go. I did my oil change today and added 1/2 a pint into the oil, let idle for 20 mins then changed the oil. Oil came right out like water because it breaks it down but it idles smoother and feels good. Added the other half of the can to a full gas fillup.

B-52 Chemtool is also good to add to the gas tank only to get rid of ping.

Yikes!!
You could have shot 8 plugs through your hood....or MUCH worse.
Glad to hear that you didn't hydro-lock the engine....

Seafoam works well when run through the PCV valve, and if you pour a can in the gas tank.

It does 'fog' the neighborhood when you fire the engine back up.

I poured allmost a whole can down the carb on my old F150 right before an emissions test and when i raised my head from under the hood, WOOOOWWWWW! the smoke was UNREAL! I smoked out the ENTIRE neighborhood!!!!! This was a nice early summer, peacefull, quiet day..............untill the crying started LOL. I actually called the FD and told them not to bother sending the trucks. When i told them what i had done, they laughed at me and asked "first time using sea foam?" i said "yep". "did you learn a lesson from this?" I reply "oh most definately!" I'm quite sure you could see it on the radar, or at least from out of state.
