Well, I've been busy the past month, on the search for the right Mustang to buy, as I felt the need not to S/C the truck, and have more of a weekend warrior if need be. I finally came across it, at first, it looked hopeless. Finding 'Stangs in CT, NY, NH, ME, I would have traveled, but didn't want to travel to find it to be a hunk of crap. Lucky enough, a good friend of mine came across this one in Milford (10 min away.) Found it last night, and it's sitting in my driveway right now. It's a '95 GT with 104k on it, I'm the 3rd owner, which is good for a Mustang. Last year of the 5.0, 5speed car. Some info on it:
BBK shorties
Full 2.5" exhaust (no cats!) with Flow 40's
MSD wires/cap/rotor/blaster coil
NGK plugs
Spec Stage 2 clutch
FRPP Aluminum Driveshaft
4 brand new Goodyears
Power everything, leather seats to boot!
Exterior/interior could use a good thorough cleaning (which it shall get)
URP cold air intake
I believe that about sums it up. Picked this baby up for $1800. Car has been a southern car its whole life (Virginia.) It's been in MA since this past September, and been off the road since beginning of November. Does need a bit of work, the 5spd has to be rebuilt (which the guy included TWO Tremec T-5's along with a brand new rebuild kit.) Unfortunately though, the t5's blow, so, I'll end up rebuilding it, just so I can drive it, and get a TKO by next year. Has an 8.8 t-lok with 2.73's (yuck) but I'll be swapping those for 3.73's/4.10's. I plan on doing some cosmetics to it, Cobra hood, Cobra R rims, few other odds and ends. Another plus too, the guy had all the receits for everything he bought in a folder, which is in my posession now. He spent well over $2500 in aftermarket parts alone, let alone typical maintenance stuff. He even had the bill of sale when he bought it, he paid $4k for it. I feel like I paid out good on this one. Only pics I got so far.

Thanks guys! Nah Aaron lol, I'm sticking with 17x9 R's up front, and 17x10.5 out back. :p. I just found out my friend can get SN95 Cobra hoods for practically nothing. Oh yea forgot it has an Eibach 2" lowering kit.

Sorry, they are the worst, ugliest, most fail of all mustangs. Its a bastard car that came inbetween 2 good styles. They are my least favorite of all Mustangs and personally hate to see anyone waste money on them. I hate them.

I'd rather drive a slowER mach1 than an abortion like that :D
what rims will it have then?

Raudermaster
04-11-2009, 02:36 PM
IF you guys only knew what I have for it already, and what's on order! It will have either '03/04 Cobra rims, chrome Saleen's or chrome R's. The guy who owned it was a complete fool though, he said it had chrome 18" FR500 rims, and he traded them straight up for those POS'! If I only knew why.

Rocknthehawk
04-11-2009, 02:40 PM
Check the Central Mass craigslist, there's been like 3 or 4 listings for Cobra R and Saleen rims.

I've got a set of Mach's for sale too :D

Edit: I've got a friend trying to sell his chrom FR500's from his GT if you're interested.

You know it Ed! Aaron, got any pics? Do his come with tires? I want to get a setup with tires already on it. Future plans for it, include a built 302/306 with a TT setup. You got your Mach's still right? Aren't those new? My friend has some spare Trickflow twisted wedge heads, along with an FRPP F cam which we're putting in when we do the tranny. I'm just debating on whether to do 3.73's or 4.10's.

the first heads that they put on the 4.6sohc till 99 or whatever were pretty weak that is true. That 5.0 is one of my least fav motors in the mustang though

Well, how much would you want for the Mach's? And how much would your friend want for the FR500's?

Rocknthehawk
04-12-2009, 12:44 AM
I've got the Mach's on CL for $400. They're all good except for a 2" bit of rash on one wheel, not noticable. I can find out about tires.

I can't remember how much he said for the 500's. I'm not sure if he still wants to sell them or not, he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

I miss my MM, but it was time for something different. A Mustang has always been a life long favorite of mine, and I finally got what I wanted. Thanks Paul! Thank you too Brian, but the guy I bought it from, has dozens of extra/spare parts, and 2 high flow cats, along with a custom H pipe come with the car, and 2 strut braces. Since I have to pull the motor (it was out last night actually!) It was pointless to put the brace back on until I get the tranny back in the car. As for emissions, my cousin owns a shop here in town so I'm all set when it comes to stickers.

The funt part, this will be a high 12 second car by the time I'm done with it N/A, if not a bit quicker. It will all cost less than the blower cost me for the MM.

Rocknthehawk

They do have tires. He's on the fence about selling them now...He said he's got an offer of $750. Think you can beat that?

Raudermaster
04-14-2009, 06:53 PM
Well, depending on how good the tires are, brand of them, and if the rims have no damage. I can pick up a set of FR500's for about $580 new. I can't beat that at this time.

Which FR500's are those: Silver, Chrome, or Black?

Ford Racing brand or replicas?

I'm just curious because I want a set of Black FR500's for my '94 GT and I am only interested in Ford wheels.

Rocknthehawk
04-15-2009, 01:36 PM
They're american muscle 17" replicas, chrome. I'm sure the REAL fr's aren't cheap.

Raudermaster

Hm, now I'm torn. I can get either A. '99 Cobra 17's with tires for $300. Or B, '95 Cobra R's, chrome, for $75 a piece with no tires. What do you guys think? I'm leaning towards the '99's.

The '95 Cobra R wheel (chrome one) is a pretty common (and good looking) wheel on a SN95 Mustang.

HAHA yeah Mustangs are the win.... just not gross rundown mid 90s ones :D

I think we will have Dez install it. He will be doing the tune, so if he can install it too, its worth the piece of mind to pay someone to do it that can warranty the work.

I know you hate Dez.....

That's fine, frees up my time to work on my own car. I'd hate to see you guys pay $4k for an install though. As for the tune, I'd recommend SMG, they bought Doug's old shop, Outlaw Dyno.

The mods have stayed the same as in my original post, except I've added heads and a cam to it along with roller rockers. I also took out the *****ty stock T-5 that can't handle anything and dropped in a TKO 600 which is bulletproof. It makes some good power for all motor and has sack to it. 4.6's don't stand a chance. I want to put a 125 shot to it or turbo it, whatever comes first lol.
