For any body in northern Il and southern Wis. Victor Ford in Waconda, which is absolutely famous for one of the biggest customer appreciation car shows is no more. :bigcry:
Last year marked the tenth anniversary of the Victor Ford show. Victor Ford and their great staff always had a line waiting down route 12 to get in to the show. This all free show, was always accompanied by free food, music, t-shirts, and the latest posters of Ford's big hitters for the customers. Not to mention some of the best one off cars, svt's, SHO's, marauders, the works. My personal favorite was seeing the big Boss and the super stallion.
Anyone who went knows that there was no place better to see high speed passes or burnouts. :burnout:
This show had more people show up last year than the Waconda days parade and after a ten year stretch with no accidents Victor Ford has decided to go out on top. Unfortunately....
I was very fortunate to attend the last five years of the show, not much better. I say thanks again to Jeff Victor and his staff!

Yeah, i was already planning a vacation weekend for it, but that has come and gone. I think the city may have got to it a little bit, might have just gotten a little too big without paying for police to be there.

Man,that sux. I lived out in Wauconda from 1956 until 1966. My father bought several cars over the years from Tony Victor,Jeff's father. Jeff was a few years younger than I am but I knew him when I was a kid. Tony used to sell Shelby's,in early 1968 I came very close to buying a GT500 KR from him.It was a dark blue convertible, they'd dealer installed dual quads on the 428. It was probably a rare car as it had an automatic and air conditioning.I think the price they quoted me was around $4700.When I checked what insurance cost for a 17 year old i forgot about buying plus i wasn't big on ragtops and thought performance cars had 4 speeds and didn't run a/c.I always wondered what happened to the car as their sales records were destroyed over the years.
I still used to stop in every couple of months to shoot the breeze with the guys there and see what they had in the way of cars. I'll miss them. What's strange is that this last Sunday I took down the notice about last years show and threw it out because I'm moving. Now I really wish I'd saved it after a year of it hanging there. Darn,I'll miss the place and the car show, they were institutions out there.

The way things were said I thought they'd gone out of business, but I just called and confirmed they have NOT,they did discontinue the car shows though. That is a shame but considering everything it was only a matter of time before that happened.

It was getting out of hand with the triple digit drive bys, the police did all they could to look the other way.

Victor Ford is definitely staying in business just the show that is stopping. Yeah, between side by side burnouts and those passes, they started cracking down early last year. Hope they will have some kind of return to the show in a few years. Wishful thinking tho.
