Is there a lift plate available to lift the motor up?

How have others pull the motor?

I want to yank the tranny and engine as a unit.... the front end is off, btw.

If the manifold is off it's pretty simple. At the front, there are 2 unused bolt holes in the block above the water pump. At the back, pull the top 2 transmission bellhousing bolts out. Use one of the engine tilting do-dads so you can position it to clear the cross-member, A/C, etc.

If the manifold is installed, it's a good bit harder. Gotta come up with some adapter plates to attach to the back of the heads. Carefully attach to the front so the SC shout isn't damaged.

Thank's , Brian.
I'm pulling the blower and such off first!

I have some plate steel.... maybe I'll make something up to help me in the future...... and to do the reinstall

Rich go but one of the lifts that have the crank handle on it. They work great! You can change the angle real easy. Well worth the money and it will be the last one you buy.

But I think I left it at Dad's ..... my Brother used it last.

When I removed and installed mine, I bolted a chain up as Brian had stated in the front of the block, but at the rear of the block I attached the chain via inside of the valley. That way pulling the engine without the tranny was possible, and mating them up together on the install was way easier.

I have not pulled them together. With the motor I made a couple of plates to bolt in place of the lower intake and used those. I would not trust the small bolts to hold tranny and motor.
