Well it's only been about two years now since my 1st set of rotors when to the crapper. Now, it its time to replace the second set.

My first fiasco was written up here:

The other day was taking a closer look at the brakes and noticed eggshell cracks on the surface - center of the Baer rotors. That would explain the mild vibration that has developed under hard braking.

I called Baer and of course - no warranty. But after listening to my tale os woe, Ben knocked off about $100 off replacing each rotor.

He insisted I abuse the brakes and raced the car... :twocents: No.... I insisted, an it is true, I have not raced the car since Atlanta Dragway 11/07. This was from street use.

Regardless, new 14" rotors, slotted only are on the way.

Shoulda went with the ones FordNut recommends from DBA.

Shouda woulda coulda. There are several different options out there. This is my experiance. Others have had zero problems. Perhaps I am doing something wrong.

You are not doing anything wrong, bear rotors are hit or miss.

BTW, you can turn them on any standard brake lathe.

I was thinking that when I had the vibration. Upon closer look, I found the cracks. Since I was able to catch a finger nail on them, I figured I wasn't going to screw around with trying to "fix" this. Replacement was the best option in my book.

Really, they won't replace them? What if they were warped? I thought there was a lifetime warranty for that. I got mine replaced when they were warped.

Any thoughts of having them Cryo treated before installation?

Nope not a good plan I tried that, I ordered some over a year ago and never got them.

Also it does seem hit and miss, mine have been fine since 2003
