Now, is there a specific place to put them on the car? Or is it just one "one for all"?
BTW, THEY LOOK MAHHVALOUS!

They should go on the fender just in front of the front doors, centered 1 inch above the side-trim piece...

Do the badges come with adhesive? If not, what do you recommend for mounting them?

Actually Bunny, I'm selling them with the 3M tape already applied, so all folks have to do is peel and apply the badge to the car... Done deal. :)

aaaahh...even better. Those sold at Marauderville didn't come with tape.

How good is the adhensive? I've seen the 3M 1/2 automotive variety, but I'm wasn't really convinced that it would hold. I'd really hate hate to have it fall off while moving on down the road.

This is OEM grade tape, trust me, it ain't comin' off by accident. Once it sets up, you have to put some serious effort in to get them back off.

I installed my badges today and they look great. But, be aware once they are on, don't even think about repositioning them. They are on for good. That tape is strong stuff. 1" above the side trim piece and 2 1/4" from the edge of the door with flags facing forward (right Logan?).

Just as a side note, Marty and discussed providing adhesives, and agreed that if someone rushed to install them and lost one, it would be upsetting. Now that the badges are coming through, please take your time installing them, and use the correct adhesives suggested by Logan.

Personally, I am very pleased y'all like them. It was a lot of work on MartyOs behalf that pulled this off, and it's a good feeling to know y'all are happy.

I went to a local bodyshop and they gave me about a foot of 3M double back tape.
Clean the back of the badge and the area on the fender with alcohol.

I used a paint stir stick to set the distence above the body molding then centered the badge.

Anybody reading this that doesn't have them act fast they are cool!

Oh at the bodyshop tell them you want black tape.

I also received my badges on Saturday, Thanks for the badges SergeantMac and MartyO, they look better then any OEM parts. You guys should get a patent for them and have them distributed all over Mercury Dealerships. Simply Awesome. :bounce:

How do you apply it with the tape?

Do you apply one 1/2" strip of tape to the badge, or do you cut the tape to completely cover the back of the badge?

I don't know how much the tape compresses out from the badge edges.

I just want a snug fit so it's less likely for things to snag.

ps the badges look great, better than OEM.

Thanks Mac and Marty!

I agree with the rest of you. The badges are beautiful. I didn't expect such a good piece. Thanks again Logan. You are truly the man.

Not only did I get my Retro Fender Badges over the weekend in the mail, I installed them `puppies' last nite.

By golly these badges look GREAT!!!! Thanks.

I have a roll of 1/2" wide body side molding tape (double sided) that I use for all auto tirm mods, etc. I followed the posted suggested -- wipe with alcohol, car and emblems, position 1" above molding and 2 1/4" in front of door edge.

Trick: use 1" wide masking tape to do the horizontal alignment and 2" wide paper paint masking for the front to back alignment.

GordonB:cool: :)

I covered the whole back of the new badge with tape, then used a razor to trim the edge of the tape to about a 45deg angle.
It doesn't really compress out from behind the badge when installed.

I used a paint stick,a ruler will work,to set the distance off the trim piece,it's about an inch up.If you tape the stick in place this will be your guide.Center the badge front to back. Then mark the ruler,or paint stir stick, peel off the tape, after cleaning, line up with your mark and press into place.

The first one is easy,if you flip your stick over use your marks to line up the other side and repeat. It's much easier if you measure from the back of the fender not the wheel opening.

Marty &Mac did you notice how many pictures SB took of your badges in Marauderville?
That is how cool these things are!

I posted a pic of the badge and a cardboard template I made to put them on. I taped the bottom of the template to the top of the moulding and then tipped it out slightly. Set the emblem on top of the template and leaned it in toward the fender. As you can tell, I would be all thumbs if I tried to eyeball it. The template is reversable for the other side. Ended up 3' from the door edge to back of moulding and 1 1/18 up from the top of moulding. Sorry the pics aren't that good, I was way too excited about having them on..
