I need a set of gloss black mirror caps. Figured some of you who have switched them out for the textured P71 caps might want to get rid of the gloss black ones.

I'll can also trade you a set of textured ones.

Post on here with your interest and I'll reply,or send me a PM.

Thanks.

It's pretty common on CVN, with members switching them out for the textured P71 caps.

I posted on there, but thought it was worth a shot on here as well.

Also, if someone has the part numbers for a set, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

I've heard of people UPgrading to the MM mirrors, but not downgrading...

I had to replace one for Takedown and all I could find was a textured one so I wetsanded it smooth, got touch up spray paint, cleared the crap out of it, wetsanded and buffed. It turned out better than perfect and took very little effort. Hope this helps.

Bob, thanks for the advice. That's a good idea.

Ya think.

If someone has an extra set, let me know. I'd also appreciate the part numbers.

They are available on the ford direct website, in the collision catalog. It doesn't tell the part numbers, but the painted covers are 21 and 38 bucks each depending on which side you need.

Last year I bought OEM 2 MM mirror assemblies for under $35 each on ebay. There were a couple more full assemblies with DTR caps that ended 2 nights ago that also went for around $30 each.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190302137890

Got to be careful on ebay with marauder parts as there are a lot of aftermarket parts.

Parts numbers:
mirror assembly left 4W7Z17683BA (heated)
mirror assembly right 4W7Z17682BA (heated)

CV and MGM appearance upgrade parts are the same thing.

Not sure what the cover numbers are. None of the pages I've looked at list it with the number.

My MM had a chrome grill and chrome mirror covers and when I bought my mirror covers to replace them they had to be painted black.

Right. If you get new ones from Ford/Mercury they will be primed and you have to paint them to match your car.

Same with some of the exterior door handles. They have some colors in stock, such as black or silver birch. But if you need a DTR or blue one, you'll have to get the primed and paint it yourself.

Unfortunately, he has the textured caps.

The search goes on.

I see he's changed his sigblock.

Sorry it didn't work out. I'll keep an eye out.
