2 QUESTIONS BEFORE IT ARRIVES!

1.) Do you guys recommend running with or without the heat shield? Why or Why not?

2.) Do you guys recommend unhooking the battery after install and before 1st run? If so, How long to do recommend leaving it unhooked?

With the heat shield it keeps heat off of 50% of it less heat means more HP :D

Yes once its done unhook the battery 10-15 min is fine :burnout:

I am using the heat shield, just spend some extra time getting everything adjusted right before you tighten it down and you will be fine.
I did have a problem getting the MAF flang from the kit to seal against the MAF with the stock gasket ring. I tool out the gasket and used some RTV to seal them together, just be careful to wipe all the excess off.

I am also running my heat shield, it was a pain to get on there but it has kept a lot of leaves and other debris out of the filter so that alone is good enough for me. As for the battery, :stupid:

We supply a heat shield and recommend it
You can un hook the battery or not. The car will learn and correct in a few miles.

Got it today, installed it, ditched the heat shield(pain in the butt)...but all I can say is this thing makes your car LOUD!

I always get looks, but I took it out for 30 minutes after install and every time I accelerated people stoped and turned to see what was coming.

Looks: 9/10 (looks like its custom painted to match car)
Ease of Install: 8/10 (would be a 10/10 if the heat shield wasnt such a pain in the butt)
Noise: 13/10 this thing makes some serious growl!
Performance: 3/10 (didnt feel much different to me)

I did start off with hood liner rub, but with 10 minutes of adjusting, IT GAWN!

Get a tune, a CAI really helps you get the most out of the tune (and the other way around).

+1 on the sound, I love it.

Good or Bad..... do u like the sound?

The only time you'll notice a difference in the sound is when you've got your foot in it. Under light throttle pressure you don't notice it.

love it, you dont hear it much unless your into it 3K+ RPMS, but it sounds like a angery lion after that!

I heard a lot of people talk about a SUCKING sound at WOT, I am not hearing that.

To you, i throw the figs

It took me a year to finally get that damn thing to fit, and it broke the little white air compressor baffle in the process. PITA!!!

To the OP: Im not sure exactly how i got my heatshield to fit, but one day it just literally went on... I did push everything together as tight as possible though, make sure your tubes are crammed up each other :P

BTW: It definitely does work best with a tune, when i put it on i only noticed that it pulled alittle better in the top end, but JLT + Lidio tune = :D

I also broke the little white vaccum box lol and yes I am working on ordering a Lidio tune, right after I get my Capital One card with a picture of my Marauder on it. lol

The little white box is the muffler for the compressor.

That's OK. I once took out about 80% of the trunk, trunk lining, moldings, ect. trying to put rear shocks on a Jetta we had only to reallize once I got deep enough that the top mount was accessed from outside the car. Oops.

Installed my JLT Cold Air Intake this weekend & MAN!!!!!! I LIKE IT!!!

My first mod, was D.R. Tune & thought "Cool, this made a difference." Now to include the tune with the JLT C.A.I., "WOW!"

Just filled my tank this morning, and dont know how long it will last. But then again, I DONT CARE!!!! :burnout:

BRING ON THE NEXT MODIFICATION!! :D

The little white box is the muffler for the compressor.Ha Ha I knew that.:coolman: Says Marauder on it. Does it do any actual muffling and if so is that a good thing? How loud could the compressor be?

Glockafella

I have been looking for a replacement that would hush the compressor

1st- longer tube for relocating to the rear

2nd- some sort of rubber tube or filter.

I was a little suprised by the sound the JLt intake made when I put mine on, guess I just didn't know. Had my exhaust redone and now I cant really here the intake sort of blends in, car can take deeper breaths now.
