Hello. I was drooling over the new 2010 Mustang GT500 on the Ford web site and was wondering if anyone dropped a 5.4 DOHC in the Marauder yet. Tried the search and so far no dice on that. If they can put it in a Mustang, can we use the Mustang specs and use the Mustang parts in place of the Marauder parts in the engine bay to make it fit? Just wondering. Gonna look at the GT500 again.

Zack or Todd maybe the best reference. The exhaust, steering wheel, and hood may require modifications. Martyo looked in this idea a couple of years ago and found it was not cost effective.

The valve covers would more than likely hit . Modifications to the ac housings can solve this. The booster may be tight too.
You'd need a scooped hood. Easily gotten.
Headers would hit the stock steering linkage, so you'd need to modify that.
That's just waht comes to mind....

Might as well build a 5.3 Big Bore and not worry about it.

A 3V 5.4 will fit with no side to side clearance problems, but the steering shaft will need to be heavily modified unless custom headers are built around it.

But that's one less valve!!

The link that Krytin posted, that Marauder is awesome. Thanks for the info O's Fan Rich. I see that the 5.4 is wider and that there would be clearance problems with the exhaust. Looks like the only option is to stroke and bore the 4.6 DOHC instead of dropping in a 5.4 DOHC. I searched on the internet and seen stroker kits to make it a 5.0 and wondered if anyone built a higher output engine without power adders for their MM.

I think Joe Walsh fits this category, send him a PM.
