Anyone in the know care to do a Jerry's Transmission Mod Translation and update for our cars with a pictured step-by-step, and correct part numbers etc? I for one would be more than willing to pay and I'm sure hundreds here would be extremely greatful!

Does anyone know where to buy a predrilled separator plate as mentioned in the write up?

You enlarge 4 holes with a drill. Its a brainless process. YOU can do it.

If you have any questions, try asking Jerry directly at http://www.fordchip.com. A while back, Jerry was modifying seperator plates on an exchange basis. You cannot get the seperator plates as a regular service item.

Has anyone on this site actually performed this mod on a Marauder specifically? It looks like a simple enough job although some of the info is a little dated. What holes did you end up using and what bit sizes? Did everything translate 1 for 1 from the instructions to your trans or were there some minor differences? Also, did you replace any springs or just enlarge the holes as outlined? Would be great to hear from someone that has this one under their belt, especially when it comes to feel afterwards. In hindsight would you have gone to the next bigger hole opening for a firmer shift?

Thanks a million,

I tried to email Jerry and got nothing in return.
Dennis is the best go between to Jerry.
I asked this same question on this board and Dennis and have yet to get an answer.

In Dallas Dennis said a trans kit was in the works, but I don't know if it was the beef up kit or "shift" kit.
Good luck getting an answer I'm still waiting.

FYI If the seperator plate is drilled plan on having the chip reflashed because the trans will shift much quicker,so where you see 6000rpm shifts on the tach my guess would be the shifts would be in the 5300rpm range.

I lost my firm shifts with more power!

I had a DR chip installed along with cooler t-stat and plugs, and upgraded to the Marauder airbox and MAF and had fantastic firm shifts. Then I installed an Eaton M90s s/c kit for the Crown Vic and had a substantial increase in HP and TQ along with a change in my HP/TQ curves. My new setup was dynotuned by FordChip (Jerry W) and I am sure that he did everything he could to tune my car the best that it could be, including raising the trans pressure prior to the shifts (which helps firm them up). The car runs great, but my firm shifts are gone.

Heres my thought on this (and I believe it would apply to the Marauder's as well - same transmission in MY2003). With the increased torque, I am maxing out the flow rate through some of the orfices in the transmission. I am thinking about doing the J-Mod per Jerry W's write up on the TCCOA site. I am planning on this soon since I want to change out the trans fluid to Amsoil synthetic. I don't believe there is more than $100 in parts and drilling some larger holes in the proper places.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Has anyone else on this site done this mod to their Marauder? What was the difference?

There are a few Jerry-Modded transmissions on the CVN board...

I thought I just replied to this, must be more than one thread again. Listen up y'all...

Do not use anything other trans fluid than the OEM Merkon V with a Stallion TC, K? This advice comes from Precision Industries.
