Do all of the controls work on the steering wheel work?
Probably the clockspring.

Yes everything works on the steering wheel, if it's the clockspring how do I fix it??

1. disconnect battery
2. remove airbag mounting hardware and air bag disconnect all wiring connections.
3. remove steering wheel (may need a puller)check for connections.
4. R+R the clock spring.
I personally have never done one on a MM but have done them on a bunch of other vehicles
Installation is the reverse obviously.

ps: make sure the wheels are straight proir to disassembly

Mine wasn't quite half that bad and all I had to do was spray the grommet in the fire wall where the steering shaft passes through with WD-40.

Either WD-40 or silicone spray will work.

BTW. Be very careful working with the airbag, you don't want it going off.......
