Mazda 3 smoked me, but I killed an SVT Contour

Had a Mazda 3 wagon pull up next to me on the highway being silly and this thing was a fast scootin dude, I couldnt keep up on any roll ons and he was 55mph to 90mph like he was shot outta a cannon...anyways, we got off the highway and lined up at a light, I beat him in the first 60', mostly because he couldnt keep the tires from squealing. Once he got that thing wrapped out, it was a matter of time and he flew by. the Mazda looked and sounded like he had a lot of money wrapped up into it. So I didnt feel bad really...and he yelled at me telling me he was impressed with my car. I told him it was all stock and weighed about 4600lbs with me and all the crap I have in the trunk. So i want too disappointed that a car half as heavy with some serious tunin smoked me.

On the way home from that beat down, I has a blacked out SVT contour pull up next to me and at the next light I let him have it...Jumpe dout in fron tof him and pulled away fairly easy...so I went home happy.

Lesson of the day:

Ricers/Tuners need to invest in some quality rubber for these high dollar motors to put it to the ground.

Fun night, stayed as safe as I can doin this type of stuff.

it was probably a mazdaspeed 3, which are turboed from the factory...

Dont feel to bad, most cars and some trucks can outrun a stock MM now adays... Im sure the skittle (SRT 4) at my HS could give me a run for my money...

Hell, my friends PT cruiser GT stays on my cars ass!

WELL DANG the specs on the Mazdaspeed 3 are impressive! I had no chance! This thing puts out almost as much power as a stock MM with 4 cans instead of 8 and 1500lbs lighter.

2.3L 4-cylinder Direct-Injection Turbocharged Engine churning out 263 HP and 280 lb-ft of torque.

Claims 5.6 seconds 0-60...yet I'm pretty sure I beat him to 60mph.

Its a Wagon:shake:, and not the good kinda wagon...like they used to make.

And I knew he had something funny going on with that motor, it just sounded to high tech to me...He also had an aftermarket exhaust, ya know the kind that sounds like a hord of killer bumble bees.

I'm a fan of the MazdaSpeed 3, and wouldn't mind having one, at least the previous generation. And, it's basically in the Ford family.

My friend has a mazdaspeed3 and I have driven it. I almost shi*t my pants when first ran that thing through the gears. Those cars will destroy NA MM's, not even in the same league

I'd rock a Mazdaspeed 3. A friend of mine has one, he has gone to a FMIC, upgraded the turbo, larger exhaust, boost control, suspension and wheels. Car sounds great and takes off like a rocket.

I ran one on the freeway pretty (70-138) even out to about 130 he slowly started to pull ahead. They are fast.
