View Full Version : Headlight Waranty replacement/loss of SilverStars

FYI, the 300A went in for a new headlight assembly due to waper vapor. I thought they would change over the headlight bulb. It apparently comes as an assembly with the bulb. When we got the car back noticed the new light was dimmer. It was too late to get the bulb back from the dealer as it has been sent back to the factory.

Sooooo, if you are getting new lights under warranty, swap out the SilverStars for the OEM bulbs, or tell them to change the bulb..

That sucks, but try to look at the bright side, (no pun intended) Now you can buy another set of silverstars, and have one in the trunk as a spare. And, your headlight has no more water vapor in it.

Out of curiosity....
What's the part number for the SilverStars for our MM? I went to an AutoZone to get some. no part # available on the computer.

Vegas, sorry to hear that, I'll keep it in mind when I go to my quarterly headlight replacement!

I looked at the Sylvania website and their part number for the bulb is 9007ST.

They list Pep Boys, Autozone and Advance as stores where you can find their products. That doesn't mean all of their products, of course.

Wal-Mart now carries 2 packs. Sylvania SilverStars that is!

Wal-mart has the best deal. It was like 28 bucks for the two pack.... ;)

The Walmart price is really 38.00 for two which is closer to the Autozone price of 19.99 each. Expensive bulbs but they really are much brighter. I installed them on Wednesday.
