just cranking is making me cranky!

After sitting for 8 months, my '03 Marauder would not start. The AAA guy banged on the gas tank, and it started. Now after another 3 months , I tried this trick again with no luck. The fuel pump switch did not need re-setting. It cranks, but no start. Does this sound like sediment in the fuel filter, or bad fuel pump? there are only 13,000 miles on the car. Help?

I had this happen to mine the 1st time at my Dealer while getting an oil change and I was told my pump was going bad possibly. Mine sits alot as well so about 6 months after sitting in my garage it was time to take her for a spin and it would crank but no start. Had to have her towed to my dealer and the fuel pump replaced and the gas tank was also full of sediment of which they said most was removed. So now she run's great and Sta-bil is dropped in when i know she's going to sit awhile...sounds like time for a new fuel pump.

Thanks for the input! I am afraid your right about the fuel pump. Kinda sucks on a car with so few miles...

I feel your pain mine had less than 12k on her when I had the pump replaced.

After you put the new pump in put some Marvel's Mystery Oil in the fuel when you are going to let it sit. It will keep the pump lubed. 4oz to a full tank. Mine started 1st try after sitting all winter.
