Just for the heck of it...and not to jinx myself...which shortblock would be the better one for running with my existing heads and Trilogy with higher boost...say 18psi? There's significant weight differences which I don't get where the delta comes from.

You can buy a complete Cobra Reman Longblock complete from Valve covers to oil pan for about $4300. You dont need to send in a core, so you will have your good running MM engine to sell or fall back on in the future.
Also, you can take the Cobra timing cover off the new engine and sell it for $300 EASY.

I think that the Cobra "Aluminator" might be a misprint and is, in fact, a cast iron block.
If you read the details, one states that is a direct replacement for 4.6L aluminum block engines, the other states that it can be used in place of any iron 4.6L block.
Although the 164 lb weight difference sounds too big for aluminum vs cast iron block.
:dunno:

BTW; I've got a TEKSID block in my garage that I need to get out of my way...I keep stubbing my toes on it, and I'm not going to use it any time soon.
