I just seen an instrument cluster guage in eBay with only 236 miles on it. I was wondering if someone replaced the speedometer in their marauder, is the actual mileage stored on the computer module? If not, will someone try to get away with selling a marauder with low mileage when actuality its a high mileage marauder. That would not be nice.

The title will show any discrepancy and also CarFax should reveal the actual mileage history.

You can pull a simple fuse out and the ODO will stop rolling...

Or you can pull the cluster apart and readjust the numbers yourself

I actually more than doubled the mileage within one year of what my title says. If I did not reregister my marauder, and if I found a low mileage speedo near or close to what the title says and replace it, Carfax would not know either (I would not do that by the way). Isn't the speedometer electronic, not mechanical? I seen digital speedometers with the mileage stored on the onboard computer. Just wondering, cause if I was looking for another marauder, I wouldn't want to be ripped off of it being a high mileage auto. (My girl loves the marauder, I might have to get another one someday)

ah yes...The old instrument cluster switch-a-roo...back 15-20 years ago when I was fixing and restoring 60's Mustangs it was a big deal to find a loooow mileage instrument cluster in a wrecked car to put in your restore for profit car.I never did this but it was funny how some folks who would never consider rolling an Odometer back would think nothing of putting a different cluster in and consider it OK! Funny how some folks think.
