Well the AC blows whatever the outside temp is. Is it true that if

the AC need to be 'charged' there is a leak? :(

Thanks for the help.

Turn the air on max/ac and see if the compressor unit is generating cold refrigerant by feeling the lines going into the firewall (one will be hot, one will be cold) Also see if the compressor clutch is locking and spinning the compressor shaft. If you can take a temp reading on the cold one and it is substantially cold, then the blend door may be stuck open allowing hot air into the duct work, if the lines are both warm, then the system may be low or losing freon.

Also check the fuse box(es). I am not near my MM now so I cant tell you exactly what fuse or what a/c lines to check (of the two,) I am sure someone will chime in with that info..

The system is designed to lock out the compressor clutch if the freon is low so if there is no lock up action by the clutch, the freon is low enough to cause the switch to open thus preventing the compressor from spinning.

Thanks Rich. The compressor is not kicking on and there are no cold AC

lines. Looks like I have a leak. Time to get the check book :bigcry:

Maybe you should try to recharge it 1st and then go from there...

I agree 134 systems are cheap to charge up, then have the mech go over it with a sniffer and see whats leaking, could be just an o-ring or hose.

Thanks guys, turned out to be a bad compressor unit. The tech said it had dye in

the system, so im guessing it had a slow leak from the previous owner.
