View Full Version : It is TMF's fault!

OK, so I have my MM's motor torn down and the heads are off to replace a burned valve. (OK, well *I* don't - I ain't no mekanicul.)

Anyway, I think, "what a great time to install a Trilogy kit!" So I took the plunge.

TMF chimes in "Yeah, it's a great time to install headers, too! Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!"

So now the Stainless Works headers are on the way, too.

Anyone ELSE want something on my Marauder while I'm at it? :shake:

I pulled the nitrous OFF the car and sold the kit. (OK again, *I* didn't). Don't need it with the Trilogy. Especially on stock internals. Besides, I'm only on the stock pulley. If I want mo' power, I can get mo' power without nitrous.

Congratulations! You are right, If you want more you can downsize the pulley get a tune and be good to go. My recommendations at this point-

1. Wilwood Big Brake Kit from Todd @ TCE. You owe it to your family to bring them and you home safely.
2. Control Arms-Metco and sway bars- Addco. To keep it all togather and under control at Warp drive
3. Widened rear wheels. Again control and traction.

Good to go. Dennis :burnout: You will have a very fast, safe and under control Marauder at any speed. From there others are nice but these are the basics FWIT IMHO.

When you are done you will want to kiss John on the lips.

Already have the widened rims - just need some drag radials to go with. Currently running Nitto 555s.

I might do brakes sometime in the future but this car is not going to see that many laps at the track. I will do some to see what she is capable of, but it is going to be more of a weekender.

Even if you do not race this car, you are going to want to upgrade the brakes for safety reasons. Any car that can get up to 100 real quick, needs to be able to come back down to 0 real quick as well. Or up to 140+:D

The brake upgrade has nothing to do with the track. You owe it to yourself and whomever rides with you to increase your stopping power. The OEM Marauder brakes are barely adequate without the Trilogy installed.

Remember...........

You'll have to stop fast if you go fast........

No offense, but...

I don't buy that argument at all. *IF* I were racing the car regularly I could see that point.

The car will go no faster with the Trilogy than without the Trilogy, except should I decide to take it to the track and in that case it is only me in the car. Even then, I am going to be pressed to beat my top MPH of 107 with the stock pulley and street tires. The OEM brakes worked just fine for my best passes to date.

I am not going to drive faster as a result of a SC. I will just get to the speed I am driving more quickly. The brakes will work as well as the brakes always have over the 6 years I have had the MM.

No SC ever made a car any faster at least when talking about non-insane street driving. It just increases power available. The driver and tune/speed limiter determine speed.

Besides, I wouldn't trust *any* car in *any* condition at 100 MPH or more on the roads in my home state. It is just plain stupid to even try. You'll end up in a corn field.

I said the exact same thing. It did not make sense to me either. BUt you will see. Better braking power will be needed. Dont ask me to explain it, it just turns out that way.

Congrats on the upgrades, sounds like your having fun!!!

It is being installed prolly Tues/Wed/Thurs along with the replacement valve, cooling mods, and headers. Prolly shocks too.

His life, yes I agree.

I thought he was saving for his daughter or something.

It's not my place to give parental advice, but I would hold off on the car for an education towards one of my kids.

Ok I'm done.

And I'm being sarcastic because, no offense Dom, I've been a far cry more responsible than you have given what you post here. The college fund reference was obviously intended as a joke.

What I am doing to my MM I planned about 5 years ago. Took me this long to get there while maintaining all of the things I am responsible for. Sure, I had the credit to do it the first day.

It is one of the reasons I think I will enjoy it more than some will - those that move from toy to toy within the span of 2 years (not directed at Dom).

I'm a little defensive about anyone giving me responsibility advice, granted. But only because I have earned the right while watching lots of other people make stupid mistakes and then complaining when things don't go their way. (again not necessarily at Dom)

Lucy's college fund is just fine, if it matters to you.

You don't know my life story so don't judge me.

Second, it's good that you didn't touch the college fund.

Third, I know you know someone will go into a college fund for toys on their car, I'm glad you are not one of these people.

Forth, enjoy! :burnout:
