Finally Got the 4.10's Done!

Wow way better! I did the axles as my car was a late 02 build but they were actually OK. Why didn't ford put these in from the start..for the 300 rpm difference at 60MPH I think the fuel consumption would have been fine and plus it feels like a mustang. Light weight feeling and huge bark with a slight drift into second at WOT (may be the help of Zacks tune). I love it and if your on the fence about it DO IT. Cost me $550 CDN for install and bought there gears off the classisfieds here for $150 US all in all with the axle kit it was still a great price for the fun factor that goes through the roof!

4.10's that's like what, 6.25's in Canadian, eh? Just messing with ya, I've been debating the gears swap for years, you sound like another happy camper.

My MM is a late '02 build with 60K on the original rear axles. How many miles was on your MM before the 4.10s and new axles?
Does your odometer now give the correct miles?

I had 87k km on the odometer. The speedo is corrected not sure if the odometer will be accurate..I would imagine if the tuner corrects the speedo it must affect the odometer...

You might want to check with Zack; IIRC you need to have the axle ratio figured in the tune.

that only adjusts the speedo. did you tell Zack you had 4.10s or were putting them in soon? if so im sure he took care of the gearing part

i did the 4.10s and i love it. the rpms only went up 300 at 65mph and the gas mileage is still about the same. and boy does it go like out of the hole. very good mod to do.
