So at work we got a Kermit the frog green s197 body mustang (2000). With a V2 vortech on it. The own claims 405 HP which when you go on the website for Vortech it's true..How is it possible that a SOHC engine with a V2 blower makes the same power as our DOHC?????265hh-405 and our 302-405??? WTF
The car would be a great project car I drove it and it's actually a dog...4800rpm until it pulls and even then I think my Marauder would be 3 city blocks further ahead before anything even happens in the stang.
6k CDN for a 70.000km beat on stang....

I'm not sure what you are saying...A blower will easily compensate for the less efficient breathing of a 2 valve engine.
It's all about how much air you can move.
BTW: There are some 2V cylinder heads available for the old school 5.0L/5.8L engines that I would rather have than our fancy 4V DOHC assemblies.
There is something to be said for simplicity too.

When it's all said an done... how much HP an engine makes means nothing if the car it's installed in can't make use of the HP.
Built Toyota Supras can easily make 800 rwhp and STILL be slower in the 1/4 mile than a 500rwhp Mustang.

Could some of the RWHP difference be attributed to the transmission on the MM versus the S197, etc.?
