1. What does engine knock sound like?
I have when the engine is cold a very quiet thump thump thump sound I don't know if it is from the engine or exhaust. It only happens when the engine is cold and goes away when warmed up, 5 - 10 minutes.
I can only hear it on idle as road noise, engine noise and wind noise covers it up.
After 5-10 minutes I popped the hood and couldn't hear anything thumping around the engine at all.
2. I have a lazy power door lock/unlock. The rear passenger door does not unlock on the 2nd unlock on the remote. If I repeat it it will unlock. Also sometimes the keypad on drivers door (outside) will not unlock the door either. (on first try pressing button 3/4) Reenter code and press 3/4 and it works fine. Sometimes when I'm starting out it also makes a grinding sound when it auto locks.
Works fine by hand.
Any ideas?

1) Like a midget with a small silver hammer. It's probably just something not sealing when it's cold. '04s have dual knock sensors, so it's probably nothing.
2) a little white lithium grease on the mechanics. The door cover comes off with a couple screws, open it up and apply grease to moving stuff till the noise disappears.

Aren, you have dual knock sensors, so you should be fine..... If it was serious it would be more of a ticking noise.... Thats what I had, twice.

Reenter code and press 3/4
You shouln't need to re-enter the door code. You have 5 seconds to press 3/4 and/or 5/6 as many times as you wish. Sometimes a passenger is too eager, and pulls the door handle before they unlock, kinda 'missing their chance' - hit 3/4 repeatedly until it unlocks.
