So In between thunderstorms today I was out getting an ice cream. I'm waiting in line and a kid probably a few years younger than me sees me get out of the MM. He starts asks me what size engine I have. I tell him the DOHC 4.6L. He says "Thats it? only a 4.6L? Thats a small motor!" I explain to him the horsepower ratings and that its the twin cam engine that is also in the 03-04 Mach 1. His reply is again "Yeah so what, its only a 4.6, thats small." Here's the icing on the cake. "I thought you could get a 6.0L in those?" I didn't really know what to say at that point. Kinda just walked away didn't feel like debating with someone that obviously knows his stuff. I shoulda messed with him a little bit and tell him that I opted for the factory blower to compensate for that "small engine". I don't mind explaining my car to people who don't know much about them but something about this kid just didn't sit well with me. Maybe cause he kept calling my engine small.

Idiots, I had a guy ask me yesterday if I had one of the "Good" ones, I told him yes its a good one, but not supercharged. If thats what he ment...it was what he ment...
Most folks who I explain to them its a 4.6 DOHC will say, "A 460 huh..." then I have to say...no a 281. usually I get a "Thats it?" I tell them DOHC motors dont need the brute size to make power...They get very confused. lol

I get these jokers once and awhile, too. I usually just smile and shrug, and say, "yep, that's a problem; with that displacement, you're basically limited to 425 -500 hp with modifications." They normally just look at me, shut up, get back in their POS and drive off. ;)

Sometimes it's easiest just to say "yup, it's a 460."

the first day i had my car i went to go meet up with my car gang and couple of guys look at the car and thought it was sweet as hell. but, then they ask me how many pounds of boost does it have. i said none it dont have a blower. and then they start to debate with me that they come stock with a blower. some people you know.

Maybe the dealer took your blower off before the car went on the lot. At shows a lot of people see the massive block of aluminum in the engine bay and just don't believe it's a 281ci.
