View Full Version : Loud "thump" from front suspension?

I started noticing this a few months ago and now it's getting worse. Whenever I go over a small bump I hear a loud thump from the front right. It's more prominent when I'm also turning to the left and going over a bump. It almost sounds like it could be the coil-over but I'm no expert. My front right tire is completely worn on the inner and outer tread but the left is fine (could be related?) Is this just as simple as replacing the front coil-overs?

I notice any time I ride in a Chicago Crown Vic taxi cab I hear the same thing but on all 4 corners!

You definately need to get that checked out before you blow out a tie-rod or something. See if the frickin shock is actually connected. Does the car sit lower on that side/corner?

It doesn't appear to sit any lower.

Could be a bad shock but the spring makes the height appear normal till you hit a bump. Have some one watch it while you go over a speedbump in a parking lot. Or jack it up and look around under there.
