This is obviously going to need repaired but before I take it in to a shop and get hosed I'd like some confirmation of what I'm looking at here. I previously posted a thread about the loud thumping sound coming from my front right side last week. Tonight I went in the garage for some ice cream out of the spare freezer and discovered this lovely pool of oil creeping out from underneath the right front wheel.
I uploaded some photos in my gallery:

That fluid looks pretty clear in the photos. I would say you are probably correct with a blown shock. Should not be too expensive.
Who called it, who's da man?;)

I just had a shock replaced at my local LM dealer. The shock was $102 and the labor was $84. That repair was done because I was hit in a wreck, so I ordered a shock for the other side and I'll put that on myself. They should always be replaced in pairs.

Thanks for the info, so I'm looking at spending around $400 for the pair? Well, at least I saved several hundred dollars 2 weeks ago by doing the "O-ring" replacement myself on the air vents.

84 bucks for labor? That's an hour? Or an hour and a half? How difficult is it to replace? Does it require a spring compressor?

Not too bad, yes you need a outer spring compressor.

I remember when my one rear shock looked like it took a wiz on my floor.
I'll be ordering my front ones this week or next week.

JustBob- Cool, thanks, figured as much, especially since I only have an inner spring compressor!
CBT - And thank you! Not too much longer and the new engine will be done and dyno'd. Looking forward to that!

I just got it back from the dealer, here's the current breakdown on parts/prices:
2 front shocks = $294.58 (and were back ordered two weeks!)
HAZ MAT Admin = $41.26
Labor = $118.00
Tax = $26.87
Whopping Grand Total - $480.71
...and now that I have it back I've confirmed that I have a problem with my air suspension too! ...but I'll make a seperate post about that. ARGH!!!
