SOLD!
I have a JLT COLD AIR INTAKE I bought for my Marauder, Installed it...loved the sound...but I cant keep my foot out of it and its costing me tons of $ in gas. I put my stock unit back on, honestly I cant tell the difference in performance between the JLT and Stock Airbox...But thats me. It will definitely give you a mean growl under the hood if thats what you want!
I would like to sell it for $100 TYD
Includes:
BLACK 4" intake pipe - perfect 10 outta 10 paint
All Rubber fittings, spacers, and Hardware
All clamps including a couple new ones I bought from Lowes
MAF adaptor
HUGE 9" Red Filter and Black Plastic Heat Shield
All you need is your MAF Unit(Free) and a short length of heater hose(a dollar or two at your local automotive parts store) and your READY TO GO!
I will consider trades!
I would love to have a new Hood Liner, mine has suffered 1 too many winters and looks like poo. I believe these are 90 bucks or less at a Ford Dealer.
Will consider all trades, serious inquires only please.
I will get some pictures of all included up soon if requested.

Do you have a tune? I actually started getting better gas mileage after I installed my JLT and put a tune on.
On your stock airbox in the middle of the tube is a J snorkel, get rid of that and cap the hole off. That will help increase the sound. I have a K&N drop-in filter for the stock box if your interested. I used it for 6 months (about 5-6,000 miles). I'd clean it and re-oil it for you, $30 shipped.

I have a Lidio Tune, and I love it. I got it after I installed the JLT. The
JLT actually made me run rich until I got the tune, it leaned it back out and it is all good now. My theory is the air was rushing by the MAF at a higher faster rate, causing the computer to try to compensate with extra fuel.
I just put a new motorcraft paper filter in my Stock Airbox, I think it breathes just as good as the JLT, I havent tried the K&N on my MM, but had it on other vehicles I have owned...But I think this car is getting more than enough air.
I was thinking about cappin off that J Tube, Just looking for a rubber style fitting for it, do you know the exact size of the hole after the tube is removed?? or a link for a direct replacement? I just dont feel like walking around Lowes for an hour trying to find the part. I was thinking bout running a dry nitrous shot into this cap for a true COLD air shot when I want it. Nothing thats gonna scred my tires off the wheels, but a nice pick seat of the pants shot.

Cut the closed end of the "J" tube off and use that to plug the hole. Use a hose clamp to secure it.
BTW... the JLT is one of the least expensive mods for HP gain you can do.
You said you "think" the stock filter & airbox flow just as good as the JLT....... Your wrong.
What do you mean by "But I think this car is getting more than enough air."? Unless you have it on a dyno and or data logging you have no clue.

The stock air tube does not flow as well as the JLT.
Have you ever cleaned your MAFS? That could be your problem right there.
Only reason why your gas mileage went down is because of your right foot.
More power allows the vehicle to work less and most of the time use less gas.
It's all in how much throttle you give it, lots of time you can back off some and still be going just as fast.

First of all, AT BEST I was getting 2-6 HP...AT BEST!
As soon as my cars engine bay warmed up, it became null and void, even with the heat shield installed. I could touch the filter and feel how warm it was on the JLT. The stock airbox is forced to draw in outside air, it may not flow air as well, but it gets cold FRESH air BETTER! I dont know if you guys know this or not, but this OEM air intake was the best Ford airbox ever designed in 2003. I wanted to feel the difference, REALLY WANTED TOO! But I felt nothing, it was all sound and looks.
Thats my clue and I'm sticking to it.

I agree, flow if air in the JLT is better, however the Stocker drew in Colder , more fresh air IMHO.
Yes I cleaned my MAF when I installed my JLT, just over a month ago...With MAF spray cleaner.
And I am not sayin its the JLT CAI causing more gas use, IT is MOST DEFINITELY MY RIGHT FOOT! the sound if the JLT is an addiction, I love hearing it and have a hard time driving my MM with it on and not trying to get that noise out it. This has had a direct reflection on my gas mileage droppin.

Does the stock airbox get hot?
Yes, the intake it's self, not the airbox MAF and tubing. The intake (the big silver thing on top over the engine) was actually designed by Jack Rousch.
"it may not flow air as well," It does or it doesn't??? First you said it did now you say it doesn't.
"First of all, AT BEST I was getting 2-6 HP...AT BEST!" How do you know this?
The engine is like a big air pump..... the more air you can get in and out the more Hp & torque you'll get.
Do you really know what you talking about?
I think you have no clue.
