I now have an electric preluber installed on MM. Pressure attained before cranking is 60psi according to MM gauge. And that lifter/rattle noise upon start-up is completely gone. Good stuff!! Now all my buggies have prelubers. I'm soundly convinced of their benefits.

If anyone wants more details/pictures, send me priv mess. I know, lousy picture. Total cost approx $480.

I know some of you lubrication wizards poo-poo a pre luber saying they are not worth anything. You could say you are willing to live w/o the benefits, but to say they are pointless is bs.

This and a trans cooler are one of your Best investment to keeping your motor and trans alive, anyone storing there vehicle for a few months during winter time needs this as there are rumblings that syn. oil won't leave any film or has less film strenght than dino oil.

Here is one I am seriously considering for the Impala since it sits so much...

It is considerably cheaper and with the right fittings you can move from car to car instead of buying two...

Thomas,

What brand are you running? Also, can you get some better pics? I am looking into the Pre-Luber (http://www.espperformance.com/rlelectronics/preluberteststuff/whyprelube.htm) for my Taurus SHO.

Anyone else using one of these?

TIA,

Thomas, please forgive me for asking, but have you replaced the stock fake oil pressure gauge with a real one? I only ask because you say the pressure is 60 lbs which is what the fake gauge always reads...

If that's the stock gauge, then you really have no idea of how much pressure is running through there before start-up. The stock MM gauge will always read 60psi with the key on... Your next mod needs to be a real AM gauge!

Okay, my stock fake guage reads zero with the key on and the engine not running, and after you turn the engine on, it starts at 0, then slowly rises and sits at 74psi no matter what you are doing, even at idle. Once you shut the engine off, it goes back to zero and starts the process again next time you start it up. What I don't understand, is why Mercury couldn't have spent just a few extra dollars and given us a real guage to look at.

Just got my replacement Autometer oil PSI gauge from Jeg's today. I plan to fix this FoMoCo oversight this weekend. :)

Here is a pict of the studs used to mount my bracket. This area is the triangular space in front of the rear wheel. Of couse you can install up closer to engine if you prefer, I just want any add'l weight/components in rear if possible, approx 8 lbs. I used stainless steel hardware.

If anyone is real serious, call me. 703 280-7164
