13.9 for a taurus SHO - considering the MSRP I'm not impressed....however, the concept of a V-6 TT with 365 HP is pretty intense...

and apparently ford is talking about perfecting this concept for the 2012 interceptor (not police interceptor...just Ford Interceptor) with a 450+ HP V-6 TT although the official concept uses a V-8 - Price is my only concern...

The 2010 Taurus SHO MSRP is 38K - makes me worry...

Wonder if the EcoBoost would fit in a Fusion...

This engine puts the Cleveland casting plant back on line, that is good, and as stated, they are looking to put it in the F-150, some of the biggest mistakes auto makers made IMO, was to make an engine or two for every car, instead of making a universal engine.

111mph trap and only 13.9?

Shouldn't that be like a 12.5 or something?

must be slow as piss off the line...Then screams through 2nd and 3rd like a banshee

It is the Lincoln version... it will be slow off the line. The SHO will have an optional manual gear box I beleive, whcih would help the slump....

The motor was supposed to go in the Fusion like mine, and become the Fusion GT, but they scrapped it last minute so it would not take away from the launch of Lincoln using it, and the Taurus.....

modular motor = damn near universal?

The 13.9 was put down by the MKS, the SHO has an additional 10 hp and should be a bit lighter car.

MSRP on a 2004 Marauder was 34K - :dunno:

Correct....

Whats the MNSRP on a new Mustang GT? For the additional room and convience of a 4 door, the SHO is priced perfectly to compete.

We don't need no stinking ECO -Boost. For the Marauder the "coyote" motor" could be the next upgrade for some.

I know its the way technology is heading (smaller, more efficient engines) but I still prefer a nice V8 under the hood. Drive the stretch between Ozona, Texas and Demming, New Mexico on I-10 and its 105 degrees outside, you want to be cruising at 75 mph at 2k rpms (with the a/c blowing ice cold); only a V8 can do that.

There was a discussion about this on SVTP, the ecoboost trap speeds were around 104mph, so the equipment was off in that video.

Correct....

Whats the MNSRP on a new Mustang GT?

$33k for a well equip stickshift coupe, $41k for a fully loaded auto convert

I think the ecoboost is capable of around a 13.5 @ 104, and for a big car like the taurus thats impressive. Its worth the money IMO, and besides, Its going to be one of the cars that draws ALOT of people into the showroom, then realize "Well i really need a focus". It isnt made to be oversold like the C6 corvette

Yeah I am calling B.S. on the trap speed, the write up would have noted serious traction issues and with 4WD that is near impossible. Maybe a 101-104 trap speed as stated above. I mean it is still only 365 crank hp and the thing weights 4400lbs (C/D quote).

None the less, at least they are breaking into the 100's, it is a nice change.
