View Full Version : Killed, er Beat an STS last night

As usual, I stop by the Man Cave after work last night to watch ESPN and talk trash. Then this guy with a purty pearl white Cadillac STS with vogue tyres and I start going back and forth about how my Marauder isn't a "real 4.6" and how I'd put his 5,000 pound, FWD, 300+ hp caddy to shame... That was until he coyly mentioned "oh yeah, I've got something about this ( ) big that spins sitting on top of my motor". Mind you we've already got the cars lined up and have the tires warm when he mentions this. So being that my car is generally stock I shamelessly asked for half a car and the move. He gave it to me. I jumped, he followed, He never caught up... He said it musta been turbo lag (first run all night), a hot tranny, and he wasn't sure he was getting enough boost... Being that it wasn't a head up race I didn't wanna call it a kill but hey...

My father drives a Caddy STS and I smoke him everytime, the Northstar Motor is nice, but not made for racing.

A Cadillac guy resorting to the typical Ricer excuses....just curious....Was his previous car a Honda??....:P

Good Kill....next time let him get his 'turbo spooled up'...yeah, right.

My father had broken 3 motor mounts, I believe this has a lot to do with it...TOO much power for a front wheel drive set up.

That, and they underengineered the motor mounts.

You should have told him "My alternator shaped supercharger wasn't making any boost, and I still beat you!"

STS is a old persons car, I saw 4 senior citizens get into a silver STS-V at the country club.

What year STS? 05 and newer STS' were RWD or AWD. Yes you can get the STS V8 with AWD.

The Northstar is meant to give you a smooth application of power.

The 2005+ STS and 2003+ CTS models are RWD.. but still not much to look at if they are not in "V" trim.

Lol. Ever since i got my AJ tune fixed the car runs like ***** ape. Its faster than my slightly bolton vic.
