So I recently purchased a 2003 SB and I seem to have a problem with my rear view mirror.

Me metal clamp on the windshield seems to be fine, but the rearview mirror is loose and can be bent from side to side. Causing it to vibrate while im driving. Any suggestions?

I had to have safelite come out to lock it into place because the first time they put it on after replacing the windshield it was lose but the second guy that came out had this tool with him and in a few seconds had it locked on properly and stoped it from rattling around on bumps and with the radio. So stop by some place that does windshields and ask them to lock it on for you properly.

Doesnt the MM have an allen set screw like all other cars?

There is a pressure clip that hold's it to the steel piece on the windshield.
When the clip is compressed you can then remove the mirror assembly.

No, it has a metal clip.

I also had a problem with mine, the windshield clip was tight and the "looseness" was not at the ball and socket connections. It appears to be where the ball connection is attached to the mirror housing itself, and it is inside the cover for the mirror. I fixed mine by installing the ScanGauge above the mirror with the BlendMount kit. It puts enough pressure on the mirror to stabilize it.

I've had the same thing for a year, but it's been pretty low on my priority list. If I go to a windshield place with a shaking rear view mirror, are they going to try to charge me an hour labor for it? How can I get this done for little to no cash?

I think the problem he is having is where the outer housing is pressed on the metal piece that comes out of the back of the mirror. There is no real way to fix without a new mirror. Used ones will do the same thing. Its from moving the mirror back and forth, it just gets loose. I have taken the mirror off and mixed up some epoxy and carfully worked it in the recess where it comes out of the mirror. You can see where it is loose when you move the mirror. Funny thing is when you take it off the car it has enough tension to not more, making it hard to see the place it is loose. The mirror will still pivot, the glue doesn't go anywhere near the pivot. Out of the 3 MM's only one suffered the problem, the one the mirror is moved all the time on.
