You can put whatever you want in the tank.

Water, Coca-Cola, coffee, blood...

It just won't run that good.

Seriously, do the math on the savings vs. 89 octane...it isn't that much.

I like to run moonshine in Maybellene every once and a while.

But yeah the savings is only like $3 a tank for 89?? Its not worth it to me..

Not worth the risk to save a few $$ IMO
At least it's not up $4 or higher like last year.

You can get one of the tuners (Lido, Reinhart, etc.) to give you an 89 octane tune, but that'll cost you a couple hundred bucks.

Or you can try to run your standard tune and hope the knock sensors do the job and keep your oil pump from grenading due to pre-detonation of the lower octane fuel.

What's the difference in price between a fill-up of 89 and 93 octane gas; a couple bucks a tank?

Your call.

Normal place I fill up at 89 octane is $2.60 and 93 is $2.82 a gallon. That's a 22 cent difference which lets say filling up with 16 gallons on 89 would be $41.60 and 93 would be $45.12 difference of $3.52.

Just do things to increase your gas mileage. Make sure you tires are inflatied properly, carry minimal weight, avoid stop & go traffic, drive less if you can help it, and the list goes on and on.

Owner's Manual says 91 Octane minimum. You take your chances with anything less. So you gotta ask yourself one question, "Do you Feel Lucky? ". ;)

If you like to get on the throttle at all, saving 10-15 cents per gallon will take years to offset the cost of a new engine. Think about it.

Gas prices shouldnt be nowhere near as high as they are now. Its just the oil companies screwing us over again. They wanted to bring the price of gas to $2.00 so they cut the production by at least half. They think just because its summer they can jack the prices as high as they want to. Whos traveling like they say??? The world's economy is in the worse condition its ever been in and its going to get alot worser because the Obama administration is trying to kill the american dollar off for his so called new world order plan. Obama is a muslim which means he doesnt even like America.

It is 75.00CDN to fill here & we only have 91 Octane !!! Lidio tuned my car 2 months ago with a very conservative tune. We still managed a 425 HP at the wheels. Gotta love this guy.
