Yes, you do !!! You were sitting here in front of your computer over the past weekend reading the threads and checking out the comments, the pics and the videos from Carlisle "All Ford Nationals". You had other things happening on the weekend of 5-7 June 2009 or maybe you didn't. So, you were drooling over the activities and the chance to meet other MM.Net members and finally put a face to a screenname. Could be that you would have liked to get a close-up look at the DOOMobile or Blackened300a's excellently polished intake. Maybe you wanted to see the "Shermanator" up close and personal.

If you haven't yet made it to one of these major local, regional or national events -- you are missing the opportunity of a lifetime. These gatherings are always fun and you couldn't ask for a better group of people to hang with. You'd be surprised how much we all have in common .... besides the love for the Mercury Marauder.

Taking the first step is always the hardest. Just Do It. If your circumstances permit --- make the time and take the drive --- to do it Just Once. I am pretty sure that you will get hooked.

Come on Out and Meet the Gang .... We'd love to see you. :2thumbs:

Good point Charlie.

I was hooked from my first time back in 2007, we had 8 Marauders mixed in with a bunch of classic cars. I knew I wanted to make this bigger for Marauders and thier owners so I decided to put forth the effort and spread the word about the event. I spearheaded getting the tent and asked MM.net for support. They agreed and even went the extra mile by suppling us with water, dash plaques, and they even offered to pick up the tent fee's if need be. With the MM.net and member support, for 2008 we had 28 Marauders show up at Carlisle.
Since it was such a good turn out and the reviews were excellent, I pushed forward and tried to improve the event for 2009 by making trophies up, raffles, and push the event as hard as I could to make this bigger. Again with the excellent support of MM.net, they supplied us with refreshments, dash plaques, picked up the tab for the trophies and with the help of Pops stereo and mm.net, they even held a raffle for Carlisle to provide us with more finacial support which paid for a member dinner at the hotel.
We had over 40 members and 36 Marauders make it to Carlisle this year.
A huge improvement over the eight I saw back in 2007 and even topped 2008's numbers.
For 2010 I plan to make the tent and table arrangements, work out some more details and make 2010 even bigger and better then it was this year.

MM.net has been a huge factor in making these events as great as they are, Combine that with the members that put effort forth like Pops for his raffle item, SMOKE for his photoshop skills in making the ballots, name tags, Tshirt designs, and raffle tags, Ms Denmark who brought a ton of sweets and food this year, TS-PA who spent the whole day sweating over the grill cooking for us, Mike Poore who delivered all the MM.net supplies, and all the members who made it out this year, We turned Carlisle into one of our biggest meets of the year.

I plan to continue my efforts for Carlisle for 2010 and I hope we can turn our 36 Marauders into 50 for our new 03-04 Marauder class starting next year!

Thanks to MM.net and all members.

Bluerauder/Charlie,
So glad the MMs have finally arrived at Carlisle. My first All Ford National was June 2004 when I went with a co-worker. Nary a 2003/4 MM was to be found EXCEPT for mine on Friday.
About this year's absence -- we had our daughters visit from bioth Michigan and Phila, plus the grandaughter and the granddoggie! And our wedding anniversary was Sunday (big 40th) so we celebrated with the kids for 3 days! Not a whole lot I could do about 'sneaking off' and not being missed! I also missed the 1st Marauderville in Ennis, Texas due to my younger daughter's wedding in Sept, 2003 the same weekend as MMville -- I kidded her about having to leave on Thursday with my future son-in-law (car buff, works for Ford) to make it to Texas, and got some 'story' about how I had to walk her down the aisle of the church on Saturday -- 'Dad, you wouldn't do that to me, would you?' -- of course NOT!!!
Joan and I will try very had to be there next year, promise. Sorry we missed all the fun this year.

If we keep growing our attendance numbers, we may end up with a showing similar to the Yellow Mustang Club!!....

This thread is more than just about Carlisle (although that is a part of it). But it applies equally to any of the local, regional, or national events. If you have been undecided or sitting on the fence about attending any of the events ... just try it sometime -- anytime.

It's amazing what can happen when members get involved in any way they can. Everybody has a good time. The cars get the recognition they deserve. So whether it's a local meet & greet at the diner or one of the multi-day trips or shows, IT WILL BE WORTH IT!

Carlisle is a perfect example of how interest in our cars can grow year over year. Look how the efforts of members have paid off in making that happen. Over arching everything is the Fun Factor. It's hard work to organize a meet of that size, but for everyone who was able to be there, it was a labor of love by members who have the drive and skill to make magic happen. Paul and Jonathan have made it their Baby, and we are all grateful for their commitment. I'm ready and willing to do anything to help them with next years show.

Pick yourself out a meet in your neck of the woods, or plan one! You got nothing to lose and you'll gain friendships you'd never come by any other way!:)

Charlie is right on the money with this thread. I am not what you would call a people person. I was pretty apprehensive about going to MVV with my 10 yr old daughter. We were made to feel right at home. Charles was our very 1st contact. :) We made Gettysburg last fall and now my wife is hooked. Carlisle though, ehh, seems to be a hex on that for me :shake: No prognostications on next year...

Casey, can I borrow your cat?

Sure. But just save the money on shipping and take a box cutter to all the corners of your furniture, then drag it across both forearms and the back of both calves. Daily.

You gotta check the forums for events ......

How about the monthly Breakfast Club meetings of the Southern Marauders at the Cracker Barrell in Marietta, GA @ I-75 and Delk Road? (36. miles from you)

Have you made plans to attend the Super Heavyweight Shootout SSHS9 in Commerce, GA in November? (43 miles from you)

Or you could take the lead and find some activities in your area and invite the others.
