View Full Version : Triple Console Gauge Pods???

I saw some guy with triple console gauge pods...instead of the factory TWO that it comes with. So right in front of the shifter....theres 3 gauges in the same under-dash console pod (or so it appears)

Where does one go about getting one of these that accommodates 3 gauges instead of 2?

thanks :)

Do a search. It's just an angled bezel and another gauge, added in to the stock 2 gauge pod. I know sd6383 or something just did his, and it looks great in person.

I did search earlier...couldn't find anything on here...although maybe I am not searching far enough...is there a vendor that sells these? I'd rather not dabble in making my own

I made mine, its actually pretty simple, you just cut a hole where the lighter is and put your new gauge in. I bought a hole saw bit but it was pretty useless, I could never get it to stay in one place to get a good cut. So I just used my dremel and took my time, you'll need an angle ring, I got mine from Summit, just search angle ring part# and you should be able to find the right one on here somewhere.

Hope this info helps

Get the Autometer angle rings, it's a DIY mod.

I'd rather not dabble in making my own

nobody sells em, you got to wire in the gauge anyway, so might as well mount a gasuge too

You could contact Jason, formerly of Team Ford in Marietta GA.

He does the angle ring mod and molds it in to the pod, then paints it the OEM color. Looks really good. He generally does this as part of a gauge upgrade project. It'll cost ya though.

I believe he has a floater pod that he can modify and have ready when you get ready to go there for the gauge swap. I don't think he is interested in modifying and selling the pods, he says he loses money on that part of the project. Probably would require a down payment to get him rolling on the pod mods.

autometer ultra lite 2

They looked a little different than mine, then I looked at your cardomain page again and you changed the LED's to red......... Question.......... How did you change the bulb's I couldn't figure out how to do it:o I read on Autometers website and they state that the Ultralite II's are not interchangeable:confused:

I dont recall exatly, I think I have the info on the cardomain page, but I got whatever people said was the matching TT gauge to our fake OIL and VOLT gauges.

there is just a black twist out socket on the back, and the led bulbs are just some cheapo things from a local parts store.

Here's a couple of pics. I drilled the holes with a hole saw on a drill press.

So how does someone find the right angled bezel?

Black_Noise

theres only 1 kind that autometer sell.... I think.

You just rotate it to get the desired angle.

You trim the back edge to fit the panel and hold the front edge parallel with the other 2.

Autometer makes 2 sizes of angled gauge mounting rings, for 2 1/16" gauges, and also for 2 5/8" gauges.

I had trouble lining up the gauge and ring exactly how I wanted as the gauge/ring/bracket easily slid around, so I used a dark grey silicon to 'stick' the ring to the console. I didn't trim the ring at all, as I wanted it angled toward the drivers position as much as possible. I let the silicon cure for a few hours, after which mounting the gauge was easy. The silicon also very nicely filled in the gaps (created between the flat ring surface against the not-so-flat console).
