Well, we finally did it---more Marauders than Cougars at John Eagle last nite !!!!!!!!!!!! 7 black MMs (and a DTR CVLXSport) all parked under the flood lights---quite a sight--great visit. Now----since we pulled this off, let's do it again on the 25th--I just talked to my contact with the SVT group and they will be glad to have us and we have our own classification--"Mercury Marauders"--so when all12 or 14 of you show up, be sure to look your best and register in "our " class-----who would of thought it would happen this soon. This is their last show for the year---if we show up in force, we will be guaranteed a place next year. Chuck's food is like the old drive-in fare--great milk shakes, onion rings and hamburgers of all types--salads and chicken for those who don't like hamburgers--
Review:::Sat, Oct 25th in the southwest corner of the Target shopping center parking lot, on the Northest corner of the intersection of Hwy 114 and Hwy 26 . Take first entrance into parking lot going north---registration on north side of building.
Let's do it up right---see all of you on the 25th, Maury
PS, I promise not to steal any cars

woo-hoo!
I'm looking forward to it! I'm gonna try to have my engine stuff powder coated by then.

It would be great if all the North Texas Marauders could make it!

It was pretty cool Thursday, Gentlemen. I was particularly impressed that the Cagles drove in from Tyler in their TR CV Sport. I'm in for Chuck's too. See y'all there.

Not so well, I'm having a hell of a time getting the correct alt. bracket. I'm about to say screw it and just take the valve covers and sway bar in to get coated. I hope to have it done in time for the 25th.

.... Dan .... ok,ok point taken!

Hey foilks, I agree with Logan--we are all one group--without the sponsorship and support of the Cougar group, we would not exist--if I gave the impression of competing with them, I sincerely apologize--through the Cougar club, we have been able to enjoy a lot of advantages and we should appreciate that fact--I guess in my entusiasm , I sounded like I was bragging--I was just amazed that we had the turn-out we did--sooooo, let's all pull together. I hope the Cougar group will join us on the 25th, Maury

Hey Petrograde,
Are those valve covers steel or aluminum?

Petrograde
10-15-2003, 06:36 PM
Hey Rumble, ... I believe they are aluminum. I just looked at them. I couldn't find a magnet to check. I tapped on them, didn't sound like a ferrous metal and they are light as hell, especially for big ass valve covers.

Tom

PS- why do you ask?

rumble

If they are aluminum I may be able to get them chromed rather
than powder coated. Whadda ya think? Price approximately
$400.00 plus shipping.

Hey Dan, I was up at John Eagle after lunch, Dave told me my car was done! hehe,.. that would've put Maury's grand theft to shame! hehe! I laughed. and told him... I'm Tom,.. not Dan. I also told him you'd be there at 5:15 to get her.

Hey Rumble as I described in another thread here (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=70630#post70630) I should have your valve covers at Chuck's next Sat.

Ya know Dan, If I had not known your MM was there today I would've been very confused when Dave told me that my car was ready!

Hey did ya notice they sold the silver one? it was parked in the customer lot with a temp tag on it.

Also, on my way to Quality Powder Coatings I saw a black MM in the lot of 5 Star Ford (I think that's what it was called) in Carrolton. I'm almost positive it had a TX plate on it..... whose was it?
